This was the best place I stayed in during my entire trip to Japan. I absolutely loved the traditional Japanese house style, it added so much charm and authenticity to the experience. The location was perfect: close to the train station yet tucked away in a peaceful, quiet neighbourhood. I had the best nights of sleep here, the bed was incredibly comfortable, and everything was spotless. The attention to detail and cleanliness really stood out. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area. Loved every moment!

The emergency exit sign is very bright and creates too much light in the bedroom.

We had a fantastic stay at this unique two-floor apartment! The highlight was the beautiful tatami room, which provided a peaceful and authentic sleeping experience. Living area in each unit is very small if a larger group wants to sit down together and chat. Can accommodate max 4 adults in the living room. No toilet on the 2nd floor so need to go down a few times.

1 stop away from Kyoto Station. Quiet neighbourhood. Comfortable and have options for larger groups. Full kitchen to cook simple breakfast and dinner. Large tatami room can accommodate a family to chat.

There are 4 buildings / rooms in total at KYOSTAY Iroha Komichi. The sound / noise from the other rooms is quite obvious.

Just like our little house in Kyoto with cozy place and nice location. Close to Toji station and bus station. Very clean and comfortable. Will definitely be back again!

The place is excellent. It is two floors with the second floor being a room. It is huge. Very clean. Beds good quality. Ammenities complete. I wish we could stay longer. Location is a bit of a distance from the main city, about 20 min bus ride. 15 mins walk from train station. But if able to navigate, definitely value for money. Staff let is leave our luggage in the room while they cleaned. Incredibly helpful

The accommodation is a great combination of traditional and modern! We got to experience sleeping on futon beds (on the floor) and all the facilities are modern and clean. Thoughtfully there was coffee, green tea, disposable slippers and washing machine. Kyoto Station and Aeon Mall was a short stroll away. My family really enjoyed this place.

Arriving with no drinking water ,or if the tap water is drinkable it should have a sign. Would really help to arrive aftee a long travel with water to drink

You get to experience traditional japanese style bedroom , cleanliness,well equipped with ACs hot shower and free washer/dryer with detergent and all cooking stuff. It is just about 8min train ride from main station Kyoto so its in a quiet area but still have nearby convenience stores ,bakeshop and kfc

We really enjoyed staying in this setup. You have kitchen, bathroom and dining area in the ground floor. It has everything you need. Everything clean and the check-in process was flawless. The spacious upstairs room was also great for our toddler for playing at daytime and sleeping at nighttime (you do not need to worry that she falls out of bed due to the comfy futons). We had a great time and highly recommend staying here.

It was an experience on its own to stay in a traditional place and it added up to the overall joy of visiting Japan and Kyoto in particular. The place is self check in and check out, clean, cozy, conveniently located close to the station (but at a quiet street). Everything we’re needed was there.

The place is compact and has everything you need - we used the kitchen to cook our breakfast and the washer to wash our clothes. Everything is super clean and the Japanese tatami room. Futons are comfortable to sleep. There is air conditioning on both floors. The location is perfect not far from Kyoto station and steps away from Aeon mall with a few good chain restaurants but also there are some good small independent restaurants in the neighborhood. The staff replied fast to hour inquiries.

We have 3 days 2 night great stay here . The place was clean and the tatami was so comfortable , we have well sleep after whole day walk . And it have great drying area.

The hall/kitchen/eating area is a tad bit small, but still it is okay for two people.

Convenient location, close to the station as well as Aeon mall. Lots of privacy and a cozy feeling of the Japanese home with the tatami mats upstairs.

It was a way too small for four people. We had to move the table and chairs to a side to open our suitcases and tried to find the space to walk around.
