Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomA bit dated with the decor. Looks like a children’s hospital ward.
Nice staff, fantastic location and good aircon, access to the adult channel.

ItalyQuirky hotel with lots of mascots and free stuff (drinks, toiletries, multiple snacks for breakfast), very Japanese. Nice location close to the canal and very convenient to reach the station without being too close

LatviaBet quite small, but that was to be expected from the description
It was good value for money, the room was quite a typical Japanese business hotel room, but they had hot drinks available on the first floor 24h and they provided breakfast pastries in the morning (they characterised them modestly as bread). We had no troubles during our stay.

United KingdomIt’s great value for money. It won’t be everyone’s taste because of the decor but I found it fun and unique and represents Okayama well.
The free buns in the morning and all day drinks. The staff were amazing, very attentive and spotless rooms.

United StatesRoomie, clean, and a great location and some limited free snacks. I highly recommend, so it was easier look past the thin towels and our room had a weird smell so we picked up an air freshener.

AustriaThe bed was very uncomfortable - way too hard for our taste. The pillows are truly terrible. Also way too hard. It was quite noisy and cold due to the windows not being fully air tight. If you're OK with the bed, it's a nice hotel.
Top Location close to the train station and castle. Free snacks and drinks. Very funny and quirky beaver theme.

The free Nikuman ban and pastries were offered from 6am. It was very helpful for me as I was leaving to catch the Shinkansen before 7. The location close enough to Okayama station was convenient, too.

FinlandThere is a free breakfast but it’s not the healthiest one, some food products like cake & hamburgers. Downstairs smelled a bit cigarettes.
There is lots of complimentary products and free drinks and ice cream 24/7. The room was okey, in the bathroom was a bathtub and downstairs you can grab a bath bomb. Good location, 10-15 min walk from the train station. Nearby is Aeon shopping center and lots of restaurants.

NetherlandsGood location with proximity to the train station. Staff was super friendly and some of them spoke English. You can get many snacks for free or for a very, very cheap contribution. They also had sweet bread that you could take in the morning.

United KingdomThe bed was a little hard but that seems to be par for the course in Japan, not all will be bothered by it. The hotel has a cute beaver/water otter mascot which is cute however it peppered everywhere to the extreme of it being in all the lifts, corridors and room and makes it feel like a children's ward on a hospital. Being in the heart of the city means there's sometimes some noise from the street at night. We didn't find it to bad past 11pm but if you walk out and about in the local area you will walk past some... interesting and entertaining bars and establishments. The TV has a number of unlocked Pornographic Channels on the TV interspersed with the normal channels that offer some... interesting content. The hotel only allows adults though so I strongly recommend you stay away from channels 121 and 131 while flicking though the TV channels so you don't accidently watch them for 30 mins like we did.
The hotel was well located within walking distance of the train station and the centre of both the night life and heart of Okayama making it a perfect base for those traveling West Japan by Rail. Okayama has a charming castle and gardens but it's rail station is well serviced by the Shinkansen including the Nozami Super Express services with more trains stopping there than nearby Himejii and Fukuyama making it a perfect base for exploring. While the rooms weren't the largest this place was easily one of the best budget and low cost hotels we stayed at and as well as having Laundry, 24h reception and friendly staff on hand it offered free soft drinks, coffee, ice pops, hot chocolate etc from the reception 24h and the staff were both helpful and good English. The hotel provides fresh towels every day either in the room or on the door if you're in Do Not Disturb.
