Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United Statestiny complaint - it would have been nice to have free coffee or tea (even if just a machine) available for early risers.

JapanOld room, it wasn’t clean at all, we found some coins and lack of service because they didn’t have instant coffee in the room which is a shame.
It was an old facility, the room we stayed isn’t renovated yet but it was fine. We spend so much time at the onsen , it was the best!! Great spots for taking pictures at the terrace too, You can see the big (Dai )Kanji on the mountain. Polite staffs.

United KingdomIt could sometimes be difficult to find somewhere to eat in the evening if you don't eat in the restaurant, which is quite expensive but no doubt very good.
The hotel is in a beautiful setting, surrounded by hills and trees. Very convenient for the ropeway and various museums. Staff were very helpful and the shuttle bus made getting around easier.

AustraliaThe location was hard to get to after 5:30pm due to in being up very very steep hill (no walking) from Gora Station and the last cable car being at 5:55pm. The free shuttle service also finished at 6pm. There was no where local to get dinner and the restaurant there was very expensive and you had to pre book. The breakfast was also expensive.
The hotel was lovely and in a quite location with a nice onsen. The staff were very lovely and the free flow each evening was great.

Hong KongSo far so good, the only bad experience is that the map in booking.com is incorrect, and the dinner is unreasonably expensive making me go outside to eat

United StatesWe would prefer a soap dispenser in the separate toilet, for hygiene reasons. Dinner choice was limited so we walked elsewhere for that.
Hotel was lovely, staff were great, easy parking, they provided extra pillows as requested (thanks) room was spacious, clean, comfortable. Nice nightlight for the toilet and we appreciated the separate toilet. Plenty of charging ports. Breakfast was limited but very tasty. Staff were so very nice throughout the hotel experience.

United StatesThe separate toilet has no soap dispenser which we would prefer, for hygiene purposes. Dinner choice was limited so we had to walk to another local hotel for a larger selection.
Wonderful staff, beautiful location, parking easy, room was clean and spacious and there was a separate toilet was nice. We very much appreciated the extra pillows and the night light, also plenty of charging ports near our beds. Fantastic view from the lobby and dining room. Breakfast was delicious, small selection, but very nice.

ChinaCommon areas were very dated and in need of a refresh, but given the rooms were recently refurbished, I assume this is on the cards.
Refurbished rooms were comfortable, spacious and had great views. Onsen was lovely, but also needed updating. Shuttle service was very handy, but should run beyond 6pm to allow for dinner in town without a steep walk on the hill afterwards.

Lovely room with plenty of space, very comfortable and seemed recently renovated. Lovely views from the lobby terrace and the room. The onsen was so lovely, there was an outdoor bath with a forest view which was amazing in the morning. Yukata and slippers provided to wear in the room and to the baths which was nice. Staff were super friendly and helpful. I used the cable car to get up there (it’s very steep!) then it was a pretty flat 5 minute walk along from the stop. When I left the hotel bus dropped me at the station which was great.

IsraelBreakfast was repetitive for three mornings. Witbout choice of vegetables. We had one dinner at the hotel which was nice and not expensive. The location was a little far from the center and you need to drive or use the shuttle to get around.
A specious room with a nice but small bathroom and separate toilet. Very clean. The staff were extremely helpful and caring. Including very helpful shuttle to and from stations. The onsen was very nice, clean and had indoor and outdoor baths.

SingaporeWhile the hotel may not seem like much from outside appearances, it is so much more than it seems. Really appreciated the great service - everyone was so kind and polite and nice. I felt personally welcomed and they made an effort to remember my name and welcome me daily. Despite their limited English, they really tried their best. The van pickups from the station were prompt and easy to get. On the last day, they even took a detour to drop me off in front of the station so I would not have to drag my luggage far. On that note, I would not recommend walking from Gora station but if the cable car is operating the walk from koen-kami is quite manageable. Room was clean and spacious. Would have been good to have a desk but I was happy to have a comfortable sofa and large bed. Rooms seemed recently renovated and well equipped. Breakfast was limited - it was a set with eggs/sausage/breads/salad and free flow coffee/tea/soup but the food was all good quality. Was especially blessed to have a free-flow promotion during my time there - they really mean free flow and they leave the bar open to mix any drink you’d like pretty much. Pretty good value for money! (I paid about 45000 yen for 2 nights for one)

United KingdomUnfortunately, although the location was beautiful on the hillside offering superb views, it did make the location difficult for a member of our party with hip issues to access. A bit more remote than anticipated. There were no restaurants in the vicinity open after 6pm - we visited April / May.
The staff were very helpful. We arrived after check-in time due to train delays, but it wasn't a problem. The shuttle was very useful.
