Maybe it is a little bit expensive compared with others accomodation in Japan.

It is a nice place and comfortable. Very close to the bus stop, so you can visit Naoshima without problem.

I am older person travelling alone & the inn was to difficulty to negotiate 15 stairs in the middle of the night to go downstairs for the toilet. Need more info online regarding suitability When I complained the next morning I was moved to the hotel area which was lovely

Tried to accomodate my requests when I needed to change areas. Car hire great. Good breakfast in a great building & really good value

The beds are extremely uncomfortable and cheap. The mattresses insanely thin over a hard metal framed bed. It would take a few nights bookings to get simple but decent bed. The lights in the room are horrible - bright white hospital lights. And to top it all off the curtains are ugly cheap flimsy things that don’t block any light so we woke up as soon as it got bright. Again it takes very little to fix these things so it’s really annoying to pay good money to people who don’t want to spend a pittance to make the stay at least basically comfortable. We slept in a tent the next day and it was more comfortable! Finally the check in window is 17.00-19.00. That is utterly ridiculous.

Beds were a bit hard and the walls very thin... didn't bother us so much but think about ear plugs if you're a light sleeper! A bit expensive but we probably paid the price for booking late during such a popular time (August).

Located on the East side (near the beach and museums) of the island. Normal sized room with clean communal facilities. We were able to rent bikes at a very reasonable price directly from the hotel.

Room smelt a little funky, probably molding in places. Had to use the bathrooms odor spray to neutralise the smell. There is no reception staff during the evening, I virtually had the place to myself which could be a pro or con. Bring water and food prior to spending a night. There are no shops nearby.

The bed was comfortable for a fold up. Decent sized television. The house in general was very clean. Highly recommend hiring a bike at the port to get around.

I couldn't figure out the water temperature until after I showered, so some indication in English would have been appreciated.

Very simple room (not a double bed but two singles) but with everything needed. Even though the location didn't seem convenient at the beginning it turned out to be great to take the bus, it wouldn't be crowded on this stop but too crowded in the next for more people to come in and buses run every half hour or every hour. We loved that the breakfast was included (we didn't know) and it was the best breakfast we had in our whole trip in Japan.

Paper thin walls, you can hear EVERY sound, makes it feel like zero privacy. Super hard futon and pillow on the floor. Absolutely spartan interior. Terrible lighting, no charm whatsoever. You're supposed to leave the key UNATTENDED on the reception desk, but literally anybody could in the open entrance door, take the key, and enter your room. The reception staff was only there about two hours per day, as far as I can tell, and she spoke no English. She was nice but no help at all. Tried doing laundry, we misunderstood each other, I end up with wet laundry and no dryer (cause they don't have one but she couldn't tell me that). Had to pack a suitcase of wet clothes. NOT COOL.

The only good thing was the breakfast at the nearby Italian restaurant. A mixed, European and Japanese set breakfast of very good quality. And the place was very clean.

The woman in charge was extremely kind and fetched us from a business near the Port as we were uncertain of finding our way to the inn. She also kindly took us to Benesse museum the following day. There is no English here so communication a little difficult. Directions to the place- and an exact map should be on the website. Accommodation is basic but adequate.

the room had a roof and was dry place... there was no fly screen so the window open brought bugs in and there was no facilites that warrant the price charged for the stay - the only bonus for this place is there is no competition.

There are no beds. Just a very thin mattress on the hard wood floor, as a result we didn't sleep at all as it was so uncomfortable. The walls are so thin you can here people opening bottles across the hall. We were supposed to stay 3 nights but chose to leave a night early and lose money because of this. It is expensive for the facilities provided and paid a little more for luxury accommodation elsewhere. The reviews all highlight the great food, unfortunately the chef was very unwell so we didn't get to try any (not the accommoadation's fault though and hope the chef gets better!)

The accommodation was extremely clean and in a good location. They offer bike hire and it is in a great location for walking from the ferry or cycling around the island. The showers and toilets are shared by very clean and the shower was powerful. Also the wifi was good.

Staff is almost always absent. I couldn't figure out how to turn on hot water for a while, was almost unable to take a shower. Just lucky to find the switch. Group of probably (?) local men drinking and having a party in the hall every night — very noisy and uncomfortable. Can't even drink tea without asking them to move. Noise gets to the room too, hard to sleep. Washing machines also always occupied.

Breakfast in the nearby Italian restaurant is very good. Bathroom clean.

Our room was very small & walls thin so you can hear talking and snoring. Shared toilets & showers on ground floor so quite far if you're upstairs. It was a bit out of the way but the island is so small & you can use bikes so it's easy to get round.

Good value for money place to stay on a generally quite expensive island. Really near the bus stop. Lovely breakfast at the Italian place next door.
