Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

GermanyOur two weeks at the Murakin Guesthouse were great! The location is fantastic, as you are situated on the hillside in Higashiōsaka, overlooking all of Ōsaka from there - you'll have beautiful views over the entire bay area, both at day and night, from this neighborhood. There are some parks and observation decks close-by, which offer even better views, completely unobstructed. The closest train station, Ishikiri Station, is only about 5 minutes away on foot. From there you can reach the city center of Ōsaka in less than 20 minutes. If you go in the other direction, you can reach Nara in just 20 minutes as well. Even in your immediate neighborhood, there's a cute traditional shopping street with local specialty shops that extends all the way down the hillside. At the end of the shopping street you will also encounter the famous Ishikiri Tsuguriya Shrine! Our hosts were very friendly and helpful, and communication was quick and easy, whenever we needed help with something. The room was nice and spacious, and we were offered free water, tea, instant noodles etc. that guests can just take according to their own needs. I can definitely recommend this guesthouse strongly!

IndiaNothing that i didn't like
Everything i liked. Especially the view of Osaka City in the evening from the top. Also this place is surrounded by 100 and more small and larger temples. It's a great place if you are interested in knowing Japanese artisan and culinary skills. The stations are very near and one can just go to the city centre in 30 minutes.

It’s a small cute house, really close by the station (5-7 minutes walk)

GermanyVery hard to find without Google Maps as there aren't any signs in English. The owners doesn't speak English, but use Google Translate, which is okay. I had to wait 1 hour outside of the guesthouse in order to check in, but the owner made it up by being very, very nice.
An authentic guesthouse in a perfect location - just between Kyoto, Nara and Osaka. Very quiet, but beautiful area with very nice owners. Very clean, very comfortable - and you get everything you need: From towels, toothbrush, shampoo, hairdryer and tea/coffee. I would definitely come back!

VietnamIt is not about the room or the apartment. I think its location is not suitable for us. Although the apartment is only 500m walking from nearest station but walking on mountain roads is big thing. It is definitely not a good choice for short stay with big luggages like us. Also, there are very few restaurants or stores around. Recommend for people who has long stay and want to enjoy Japanese local life.
Our room is big and clean (the biggest among all rooms we rent in Japan) and occcupied everything we need. The owner is friendly and seems flexible in checkin checkout time.
