Being a wood construction from some years ago, noise isolation between rooms is nonexistent, you can hear everything your neighbors or the cats upstairs do.

The pension is located in the forest, it's very nice and quiet. It seems like time is suspended in the past, things go slower, it's calm. The owners are really nice people and they have lovely cats. The room was small but functional.

The pension is built entirely of wooden structure so you will be able to hear walking noises if someone is walking above.

Location is just opposite the gondola lift to Mount Shirane which is excellent if you planning to visit it.

Location is not very close to main tourist spots, but it is known and if driving yourself.

Owners are kind and friendly. It is good value for money.

Very kind and friendly owners. Nice house and external environment. Parking available. Good dinner. This is a pretty mountain cottage, not a standard turistic hotel, it looks like the huts in the European Alps: it is a lovely nest.

Very nice pension with choice of rooms with shared bathroom or cottages. Great location to visit Nikko and hike the surrounding mountains. Breakfast and dinner can be booked and the quality is good. The owners are extremely kind and helpful!

The location is quiet which is great but you can hear everyone moving around in the pension, not great if you are a light sleeper. We had a car so getting around wasn't a problem, but it's good to note that there are only 2 places to eat after 5pm and they are a 20 minute drive away. There is a combini if you drive a bit further.

The staff were friendly and the place was clean but a bit worn in places. For the price there was nothing to grumble about. The bath is shared with everyone else and 1 person at a time (one for men and one for women). There is an onsen up the road at the base of the ski lift. We didn't eat at the pension so I can't comment on the food. We stayed in the autumn and the views in the woods were stunning.

We had a wonderful stay at this cozy pension. The woman and man who run the property are incredibly kind. We paid to have two dinners and one breakfast during our time, and all of our meals were delicious. The environment and scenery were peaceful and beautiful.

The house is older so it is not soundproofed. Also, the slopes are a 10-minute uphill walk away, which is OK but would have preferred a ride service.

The owners are really kind. It is run by an elderly Chinese lady and her son, who create a leisurely and homey atmostphere, The meals were large and affordable, although a bit simple. At this price point, I am very happy with the stay!

We stayed in the loft area. The only thing that went wrong was we had the heater and the hair dryer running and we tripped a breaker. Luckily we found the breaker and reset it.

The breakfast was very good and the amount of food was perfect before a day of hiking. The woman running the pension went well out of her way to help us.

The two people who ran the hotel were extremely nice and friendly, and their cats were also lovely to see. The area is very secluded and peaceful, very idyllic. The shuttle service between Yumoto-Onsen and the hotel was an absolute lifesaver.

Everything was great, obviously being out in nature, there are a few bugs that get in from time to time, so unless you are scared of bugs, this a good place to stay.

The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, they messaged on the day of our stay to ask whether we would require food and I'm glad that we chose the dinner set which was delicious.

We didn't realise we hadn't paid for it when booking, so had to somehow get the cash together when checking out. Not that we didn't like it, just unexpected. Probably down to me not checking on Bcom. 😎.

Wow, what a fantastic stay. Toto the cat was cute. We got picked up and dropped off from bus station. Lovely walk around lake and dam. Made use of cable car. And the owners were lovely 😍. D&M.

Lovely location and staff, when I explained that I am vegetarian but I can eat rice, vegetables, egg, and tofu the land lady cooked me a delicious vegan meal!
