The HVAC for the room is pretty tightly coupled to the hotel so if you like a cooler room for the night (like we do) you’re out of luck. We couldn’t get the room cooler than 21C/70F.

Hotel room was huge for Tokyo. The furnishings were a little dated but match the regal buildiing and gardens (part of the university but you get access during the day). The cafe/lounge had amazing desserts and good coffee and a great view of the gardens. The room was very comfortable and clean. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Location could be better (a bit of a walk to train/metro) but the free shuttle bus was easy and frequent enough to make it easy and the Takadanobaba area (where the bus drops you) has lots of shops and restaurants. Flip side to the location is it very quiet and relaxing. Highly recommended.

Breakfast buffer was not good. The English/western selection was small and not well cooked.

We enjoyed our stay our suite had a wonderful view over the university park land, although as in was university holidays when we visited, the gardens were not opened. The view of the hotel on the website gives the impression the gardens are public or open to hotel guests this is not the case during uni holidays.

The hotel would have once been charming and the Victorian decor probably suggests when that was. It is quite dated albeit functipnally maintained.

The hptel was very accommodating with our request for 2 adults and 2 chidren to stay in pne room and gave us a generous sized Junior Suite that was quite spacious. The room overlooked the adjacent university gardens and was quite pleasant.

The bed and pillows were quite firm, so it took some getting used to and the sofa bed was on the smaller side length wise. So if your tall, expect your feet to hang out of it! We ended up trying the Wi-Fi once but it was terrible, so we stuck to using our pocket Wi-Fi. The location of the hotel was far from the nearest station; however, when you do decide to walk to it, there are some nice restaurants and cafe's that you past. And these eateries are really cheap, given that its located near a university. The buffet breakfast was very limited and disappointing. And none of the restaurants provided any soy milk or milk alternatives for the coffee, so I didn't drink any.

We stayed in the luxury twin room with an extra sofa bed for the third adult. The room was supplied with robes, night gowns and more than enough toiletries; and was cleaned on a daily basis. The ambiance and décor of the hotel is very elegant and inviting. The service we received from the staff was exceptional and they went above and beyond to meet our requirements. A shuttle bus service was also provided to drive you to and from the hotel and Waseda train station. But note, the last shuttle bus is at 9:30pm from the hotel and 9:40pm from the train station, so you will need to catch a taxi after that; unless you're happy to walk for at least 20 minutes. There were also restaurants and a bar in the hotel, which we had the opportunity to dine in some of them and a lovely garden just behind. The hotel also provides a same day dry cleaning service (provided its been received before 11am if I can recall) and there is a laundromat just a few minutes walk across the road from the hotel.

The price was a bit high for a hotel off the beaten tourist path. Also, the restaurant and on-site stores are outrageously expensive, as are the pool use fees. Luckily there are a couple of convenience stores nearby.

It's a very clean and posh Western-style hotel in area near Waseda University. For tourists there are really no sites in the vicinity but hotel does provide a shuttle every half hour to closest JR station (Takadonobaba). The shower was great and nice to have refrigerator and kettle in room.

The hotel has large rooms but the rooms are dated and over priced. I had booked a room for 3 people on booking.com, two adults and a child but the room only had 2 towels, 2 pillows etc. when I asked for extra towels and linen they required an extra $65 per night fee on top of the $280 per night. Rooms are large and sleep up to 4 people..,there was 2 extra trundle beds under each of the 2 main beds... ything - wanted to use the pool with m uch. After paying the fee we still did not get the extra linen and pillows we asked for....which could have been due to a communication problem. The hotel charges for everything - including facilities that are normally included in the room fee. My daughter went to the pool for a swim but the fee was 5400 yen per person. Discounted breakfast is 2100 yen for an adult and 980 yen for a 4 year old... breaky is basically $70 for 4 people...It’s a buffet style although not large like a 5 star hotel. The lobby lounge is closed until the evening and you cannot simply go down and grab a seat to chill out..,,you need to buy a drink to sit in the lobby lounge. It does have a very nice garden This hotel is way overrated and priced....not so royal....

Maybe because it is an older luxury hotel, the toilet seat function is not as advanced as some of modern hotel in Tokyo if you are picky about it.But it is overall very clean and comfortable. Breakfast is bit expensive, it can cost nearly 20 percent of room rate if family of four take breakfast in the hotel. But you can try the convenient store close by and get much cheapter and good quality food for breakfast.

Located next to Waseda University and it is a quiet place. Hotel decorations are nice, room is very clean comfortable, with luxurious style. Staff are friendly and helpful. There is a convenient shop next to hotel where you can buy some Japanese snack and food if you are tired of hotel dining.Japan's convenient store often sells more variety also quality goods than a regular convenient shop in other country. Within 10 minutes of walk you can reach Waseda tram station.

1-In Booking it shows we can use the pool for free as long we don't have tattoos, but NO, children and adults mus pay. 2-Payed all at once cash and she showed me our room cards, I reached my hands to pick them, but she ignored me and lead us up. 3-Hotel Shuttle bus when using it from the station is very slow to come there. 4-Nothing more to use or go to there after 4 pm. 5-I was the one who paid everything not my Father, so they treated him like a big boss and me as dump. 6-Many times I tell front desk something and they don't agree with me, after a while they knew am right all along then agree. 7-This one drove us crazy, every time we call front desk, they waste a lot of time and keep us waiting, when they finally answer, they put us again on waiting, then try to help us.

Nice design in all hotel top to bottom and the hotel garden.

The hotel has a lot of carpeting in the floors which is suffering from rot. So there is always an underlying smell in the hallways and in the room.

A very nice classical Hotel located in the heart of Tokyo. Lots of sights within walking distance to the hotel. There is also a shuttle bus going to and from the Hotel to the nearest Train Station. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. There are 2 restaurants within the hotel (albeit a bit pricey). However there is a large selection of other options within 10 minutes of walking surrounding the hotel.
