The stairs leading from street level to reception were a bit of a struggle with a large suitcase. The rooms aren’t the most soundproof so you do hear people coming and going but I never experienced any major issues with noise from other guests.

Fantastic location - can be in Shibuya in 10 minutes and the hotel is only a short walk from the station. The neighbourhood itself is lovely with a distinctly local feel and lots of wonderful cafes, restaurants, bars and shops all within walking distance of the hotel. A double room was plenty of space for me as a solo traveller, and although the bathroom is compact, you get used to it very quickly. The bed was comfortable, the air con and WiFi both worked well, and the room was very clean and well presented with towels refreshed and rubbish cleared every day and a full room and bathroom cleaning done every three days. All the staff I met were wonderful - very friendly whenever I saw them and went out of their way to help me with my luggage and make sure I had a taxi booked when checking out.

Nothing to complain!

What a fantastic location! Being just two stops away from Shibuya Station in such a cool, youthful area was a major plus. We had a little surprise seeing stairs to the front desk, but honestly, the staff were amazing! They insisted on helping us with our luggage, even though we could have managed. Their quick and thoughtful help carrying everything upstairs was so kind. The hotel itself was spotless, and we loved being able to get a huge amount of ice whenever we asked. I absolutely loved my stay at B Sangenjaya Hotel and would totally recommend it! Oh, and don't miss the delicious Chinese food right across the street!

Smoking rooms, did not offer non smoking the first time. Had to repeatedly ask for a switch to non smoking room, stating that it was fully occupied. Other than that, the staff was friendly.

The walls are very thin; we could hear people on our same floor as well as people on the floor below ours. At night there was a party crowd (NYE and all), and they were loud even until 2am. It was annoying….

Staff could be better informed about tourist activities in Tokyo

I've been to 4 hotels in Tokyo, and this was without a doubt the best of them all. The rooms are much larger than most in Tokyo, the location is excellent, very close to the best neighborhoods in Tokyo. The staff are great, and they know how to speak English well (which is rare in other hotels) They are very helpful and try to help as best they can, always in a good mood and with a smile on their face. The only drawback is that they are a little misinformed about tourist activities in Tokyo, namely restaurants, transport, etc. But it's just a detail, because everything else is great.

The building itself was little old, like you can see stain on the wall and what not. But nothing affected functionality of the room.
