Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Our room had an incredible balcony view of Tokyo Tower and was the perfect place to start our trip. Such a warm and friendly welcome - all the staff were lovely throughout, and let us check-in early. Evening drinks on the 33rd floor to celebrate our anniversary, with an incredible view out over the tower and city,

Annie, in concierge, was so helpful and attentive to our needs she alone would bring us back to this fine hotel! Our room, with a gorgeous view was exceptional!

The bathroom shower could have been better. Otherwise everything else was exceptional.
The staff was amazing. All services were perfect and I would strongly recommend this hotel- especially their premium rooms with club lounge access

The window shades were a little loud and took a lot of effort to roll up and down. We appreciated the light blocking power of them though.
Wonderful location, we were able to wait in the park before our room was ready. A line of taxis outside so we could leave for the airport very quickly. Easy access to multiple metro lines. The staff was very helpful.

This is not a 5 star property in the Western sense i.e no warm towel or cold drink offered upon arrival (especially after a long haul flight). You need to pay additional fees to use the pool, I found this somewhat off-putting considering the €3200 we were paying for the 5 nights. No obvious information on visits or excursions with Tokyo. It felt less of a hotel and more of a private building where people come and go. Other aspect was the amount of disposable toiletries and no signage on towels and water saving. I believe that this is less to do with the hotel but a large contrast to Europe.
Over a 2 week trip in Japan, the room was the largest and most comfortable. Good view onto the park with balcony. Concierge desk helped book some tickets for theatre in Kyoto as website only accepted Japanese. Discreet cleaning service. Bathroom with shower and bath. Fresh slippers and pyjamas.

Metro is a short walk. We stayed at 2 more hotels in Tokyo; who were a bit closer to to the metro. But 7 minutes is still ok.
The location is fantastic. We've booked a room with Tokyo Tower view - so truly enjoyed the sunrise and sunset from the balcony. Hotel is a classic Japanese hotel - interior is a bit old fashioned. But has it's own charm and still good. Staff was super nice and friendly. Japanese hospitality at it's best.

WOW! The view was unreal. Such a luxurious experience. The room was spacious and amazing with a walk in wardrobe, big bed, separate toilet and amazing bathroom. It’s a bit of a walk from the nearest JR station and we didn’t find out till the last day they have a free shuttle! So definitely make use of that.
