Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaNothing really :) The ringing of the front gate in the middle of the night was a little abrupt!
The property is beautiful, the rooms very comfortable, and the staff are amazing! From the moment we were greeted on arrival by Marina, we felt like we were visiting a favourite relative's home. We stayed two nights at Deer Park Luxury Stays after a fairly hectic 18-day safari (and prior to flying home to Australia) ... so rest and relaxation was on our agenda - and we certainly achieved rest, relaxation and recovery! Thank you to Wilson, Antonina, Marina, Josephine, Roderick, Kevin and chef Victor.

AustraliaNothing.
Deerpark was an amazing place to stay for our first few nights in Kenya. The staff were absolutely lovely - Antonina gets a special mention - and helped make our stay fantastic. The accommodation itself was great and the gardens were such a nice point of difference to other hotels. The hotel is in a gated neighbourhood and we went for walks both nearby and out to a local shopping centre, feeling completely safe. Meals were great, our son says he would go back just to have the steak sandwich again.

DenmarkDeerpark was the perfect place to stay for me during my visit to Nairobi. I was there with a colleague, and we had a very busy schedule during the days. Coming back to Deerpark in the evenings was a balm! The lush garden, the friendly hellos from everyone on the staff, the quiet and the lovely house all contributed to making me feel relaxed and safe. Our every need was catered for by the handful of staff, from remembering our breakfast preferences to helping with the booking of transport, and being able to order a variety of food from the menu. The atmosphere was relaxed, yet caring. The place is small, and to me that is infinetely preferable to chain luxury hotels, and at a fraction of the price, too. I will be sure to stay there again if I come to Nairobi.

CanadaI liked everything, especially the staff
This is a lovely hotel in every way - the grounds, the rooms, the staff. What a treat to stay there, away from the noise and bustle of Nairobi, yet easy to get around from by inexpensive Uber.

FranceMaybe just a little suggestion, if I really had to, will be to add a little heater in the room for chilly nights. But the place is already amazing and well organized 😻
The environment, the house, the place, the garden, the furnitures, the staffs, the location, the cleaningness, the organisation of the place, everything 🥰 will definitely come back, it's a little haven of peace in the middle of a growing city

United KingdomEverything- I loved everything about this property. The moment you enter, you feel at home and relaxed, mainly because of the staff. Antonia, Wilson, Kennedy, and all the other staff members went above and beyond to make my stay feel like a home away from home. Beyond that, the hotel itself is an oasis of tranquility in the middle of the city. I will definitely be heading back on my next trip. Oh, and the hot water bottle drop-off before bed REALLY made me feel right at home.

CanadaMy stay at Deerpark was excellent, at all levels. 1. The Room was very clean and well-designed. The hotel in general is well-decorated with Martha Steward's touch. 2. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They make you feel like you are at home at all times. From the moment you arrive until you leave. 3. The food is just simply delicious and very tasty and fresh. Compare to other very good restaurants in Nairobi or elsewhere. 4. And last but not least, their garden is impeccable. A very good place to enjoy your meal and relax. Overall, at Deerpark stay, is home away from home. Definitely would recommend it to anyone who enjoys good food and a quiet place that feels like home.

PhilippinesOur room was located next to the exit door. While the first night was relatively quiet, we found that as more guests arrived, the noise from the door opening and closing at night became quite noticeable.
The location is in a safe and quiet area, making it very pleasant. The breakfast was excellent, and the staff was very accommodating. The room was cozy and comfortable, providing a relaxing atmosphere.

United StatesNothing comes to mind. Everything was great.
This is a hotel I would highly recommend, and return to each time I come to Nairobi. This property is in a nice, gated community, and is very safe. It is conveniently located near shopping and other amenities. Uber is quick and easy, and will take you where you need to go. This is a boutique hotel, in the middle of a residential neighborhood. The hotel staff are very friendly and attentive, and greet you each day with a smile. They call you by name, and go out of their way to make sure your stay is comfortable and memorable. Understandably, if you are on business and you need to stay in the business district, then this hotel might not fit your agenda, but if you’re on holiday, and want a small and intimate hotel that cater to you, then this is your hotel. You won’t be disappointed.
