Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

AustraliaThe tent was a small in size for 4 adults. It might be more suitable for 2 adults and 2 kids. There was hardly space for opening suitcases etc. Food prices were high compared to quality and diversity.
The property is located at a very secluded area overlooking the giant Kilimanjaro. In fact there was unobstructed view of the mountain from the tent itself. The staff are very helpful and nice. The tent has all necessary ammenities like hot water, decent toilets, comfortable beds, mosquito nets, drinking water, wardrobe etc. The staff also arranged warm drinking water in requests. We spent good time there.

AustraliaDue to the nature of the tents, the rooms get quite hot during the day. The camp had water issues on our final morning (ie no water).
The chef consistently produced amazing meals during our 3 day stay. Alfred in the restaurant was also an absolute pleasure. The bed was very comfortable and the room temperature was pleasant in both the early morning and at night.

MalaysiaThe solar power and hot water systems had some issues but I think they fixed it now. We always had power and water anyway.
We had our own transport. There is a bar with beer and wine and some spirits. Three meals a day can be provided including packed lunch for the National Park. Food is basic but well prepared.

GermanyWe stayed with four people in the lioness tent. There's a thin wall to separate the beds so you have a bit of privacy. The view of Kilimandscharo on the terrace was just great and unique! the camp is really close to eremito gate and they organized a good guide for us. The staff was really nice, especially leah! There is also a little pool and a fireplace which we enjoyed after dinner. The camp could use some more areas with large sun umbrellas or awnings because it gets very hot during the day. You can buy meals and drinks in the Restaurant, but theres no market closeby. So we were glad that we bought some snacks and water for the trip to amboseli before. No complaints, just to give an impression. All in all we had a great stay and hope to come back one day!

United StatesProperty listed AC included which is why they were selected. No AC and no reliable power for fans. Property chooses to not run generator 24 hrs so there are extended periods without power. Which means fans don’t work after 11pm as scheduled or even during the heat of the day when it’s needed if line power is out. Rooms will be 40C during the day and no power for fans. Property doesn’t have enough fans to supply for each bed only 1 per tent. Property in need of fixing rotting sharp wood on floors. Manager said they would find us to hear concerns but this did not occur between 3-9 pm that we were available before checkout following day. No compensation or rate reduction provided by staff upon complaining.
The views of Kili are undisputed the best! The F&B staff were very helpful. Food was great and some of the better camp food of our 4 different safari resorts we stayed in. Checkin staff were nice but hands were tied to resolving issues - unable to clarify why listing says AC included in room but it’s NOT, and property does not have enough fans to provide one for each room when requested.

KenyaFirst, the pin for the location is not where the lodge is. I tried to contact them for direction, but they were unresponsive! The contact number on booking.com does not even go through WhatsApp. They don't even have a Kenyan number to call! I ended up being helped by KWS to find the location! The owner is too special even to respond to messages on booking.com. The two double beds were advertised, only one was a double bed, the other was very tiny! Moreover, the nets didn't fit the beds well, mosquitos were flowing in, and we were their delicious meal for the two nights! On meals, their restaurant is very basic. They could not offer packed breakfast for one to carry for early safari like the way other lodges do! In fact, they say they can't offer food before 6 am, i waited till 6:30 am and got nothing. Furthermore, they promised a water dispenser bottle for two nights, which never appeared. Online, the facility has been advertised with air-condition and heating. This is a hoax! Don't oversell what you don't offer! The worst experience came when it started raining. Our tent was leaking in, and we had to stay in the same tent with water and mosquitos as they could offer no alternative! I had to be rained on with my wife and two little kids, and all I got was a sorry with no action. I can ignore all the other things, but that was the worst nightmare, totally unprofessional, and zero rating for hospitality infact unfit for public health. The place has potential, but the management of this location needs to be more serous if they want to be competitive in the Kenyan market infact what I missed were just basics that even a village lodge can offer in Kenya. This was a total reap off!
The location was close to the park but not in the park as the pin suggested.
