Second time staying, it's such a little oasis. Comfy bed, outdoor shower, AMAZING milkshakes and food. I was working remotely and was able to take work calls from the swimming pool.

Great place to chill with a lot of sitting areas where you can relax or do some work. Good food and good service from the staff. A good place to relax when you are traveling.

Food is quite expensive. For example small small plate of chicken wings for 500 which is a lot. There are no lockers in the dorms, which would be nice. Fans don't really help the top beds so quite hot.

Really nice place overall. Bathrooms were always clean. Dorm is quite big and enough space for everything. There are also some shelves which is quite nice. Beds are big and not only standard small. Wifi overall good, sometimes bit spoty but works for calls. It is a place with quite some locals. Kitchen has the basic things.

Air con in rooms would be amazing, its just so hot that it's hard to sleep in summer even with fans. Also a little bit far away from everything.

Loved the restaurant on site, such good food! The pool is fantastic, nice chill area and overall relaxing mellow vibe.

The relation prize-quality is very good. You have to be a friend to nature, to really enjoy it and don't expect luxury. The pool area is gorgeous and everything is very well kept.

If the dorm room is fully booked, I can imagine that there won't be enough storage space. The location is a bit away from the city and the open sea but is easy to reach by motorbike taxi

I really liked it and was very happy that I got the recommendation to stay there. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I extended my stay. It's a great place to wind down.

I got a private room and they would benefit from putting some sort of a screen over the windows as there were a lot of bugs. Also stuff kept falling from the thatched roof and covering the bed. Just a shower in the room with no hot water. I did really enjoy my stay but I think the private room was a bit overpriced for what I got.

Really wonderful environment, beautiful space, good food and I loved the beach a few minutes away. It is also a really good place for digital nomads with lots of space to work. I would recommend it especially if you want to be around other travellers.

Nothing major - but when you take the budget double room be aware that there's no glass in the windows, meaning you could sometimes hear the people in the neighbour rooms during the night.

We really enjoyed the area around the bar/restaurant and the pool, there were lots of possibilities to sit and chill. On Friday's there are often events happening so we enjoyed an evening there with live music. Another highlight was the access to the beach where you can find bioluminescence in the sea at night which is really something special.

It was a bit far to get to the beach, approximately a 15 minute piki piki ride.

I quite liked the location. I was conflicted whether to stay along the coast or to stay here and decided to come here for a different experience. It was worth it to go because if I picked the coast I don't think I would have made the trip out here. It's quite tucked away, but has access to the creek beach where you can get picked up to go for a sunset cruise (definitely worthwhile). You're surrounded by nature and I saw a large land crab and hedgehog! They had some live music on Friday and it wasn't super busy at this time but still easy to meet other solo travelers.

We keep on coming back to DR just because it's the best place to be in Kilifi. You can sleep, eat, work, swim, have fun, listen to music, meditate and socialize - all in one place.

Beautiful, so much love was put into this place, the food is amazing, and you have SO many offers for exploring everything around the Lodge: incredible Pool as well and everybody is so nice and makes sure that you feel comfortable! They even do your laundry haha.

The mosquito nets were not the best so if you’re sensible when it comes to insects, maybe bring your own. Also I had a weird moment with one of the staff members, unfortunately don’t know his name, but he took pictures of me without my permission which was kinda uncomfortable

The pool area was beautiful! Food was delicious, I recommend the mama zucchini so yummy! Staff was super friendly especially Phillip & Michael! Going down to the beach to see the glowing plankton at night was defo a highlight of our Kenya travels!

Beware that on Fridays it’s party night there. However that didn’t bother us unlike some very loud music played close by the creek. That lasted until the morning.

Very much integrated into the woods. Great hostel with even better (and not so expensive) food! Lovely to hang out.

I thought there'll be more offer of excursions. You can ask at the reception how to get to places, and they are really kind but there are not many activities planned, such a group excursions.

The place is really nice and the atmosphere in there is super good. The open mic is funny and on saturdays they also have live music. Moreover, if you are interested in a sailing trip to see the sunset ask for Abuu, he is a man from Lamu who is doing this excursions with his "dhow", typical sailing boat. It is a nice trip and he is a really interesting guy.

Bugs in room because of no mosquitonets Our room was near place for staff. They start to work early (7’ish). It’s a big staff, so it was a bit loud in the morning.

They had a and on the Friday night. They were great, but had some technical issues, which meant they started late and finished late. The music was going past 2am, which is fine for a lot of people. However I’m old, an go to bed by midnight, so it was a little much for me. But it wouldn’t stop my going back.

The staff were friendly and greet you by name (amazing!!) We we’re late arriving due to a flight delay, I received a message asking if I wanted to preorder dinner before the kitchen closed, and the menu was attached. The property was kept clean the entire time. The atmosphere is really casual and relaxed.

The shared kitchen needs some attention to make the place perfect; bigger fridge, more pans, more kitchen equipment such as bowls, cutlery and serving spoons etc, spices. I think there should be some thought put into an eco water filter system for drinking water to prevent people buying single use plastics. Constructive criticism but kitchen could be improved.

We got upgraded to bandas and so we were very lucky in this respect. Great staff, atmosphere, chill space, incredible bioluminescence, activities, games, mangroves and local snorkelling, huge food portions. We loved it and easily could have stayed longer.
