As this is an area with mosquitos carrying possibly malaria, even though there were nets on Windows we would suggest adding nets to the beds (all places we went before had both on windows and beds). We would also suggest to increase mattress quality.

Host and service people at Footprints House were very kind and very reactive The place was also very close to the beach.

Footprints is I a great location, very close to the airport and a short walk to the beach, which was just breathtaking. The atmosphere of the accomodation was very laid back and friendly, just what I needed for a relaxing break.

The property has a beautiful garden and a lovely living area. A public beach is just a five-minute walk away. The room was clean, spacious, and very comfortable. The staff were extremely supportive and friendly, and the owner was always available to help with tips and recommendations. She suggested some great local food spots and a relaxing spa. I highly recommend this place—specially for solo travelers.

I can’t say enough good things about this place! There’s a reason I’m a repeat guest here. Tucked away on the beautiful Diani coast, Footprints has the perfect location in the centre of the town to make getting around super convenient, and just a couple minutes walk from the beach is the cherry on top. The house is bright, clean and airy with plenty of little nooks inside, on the veranda and in the garden to tuck away with a good book or to just chill out with a cold beer. The staff are friendly and the hosts and their little furry family of dogs and cats (the real stars of the show) are one of the main reasons I come back to stay here! The hosts respect your privacy and at the same time are super friendly and always happy to help with whatever you need (ask them about where to eat and what outings to make and they’ll be happy to assist!) Breakfast being included is also a big plus for me as it’s the one meal I don’t want to have to worry about when I start my day. The newly installed ACs are also a game changer especially for the warmer months. There is also a communal fridge, microwave and water dispenser available for guests to use.

What did we like... EVERYTHING! Beautiful location, just a shadey grassy path (with steps) away from the beach, also ideal for bars, restaurants, supermarkets, ATM etc. The whole place was just perfect for us. Spotlessly clean, comfortable, yes aircon only overnight but how long do you sit in your room for anyway?? Overnights aircon was plenty, you woke up feeling fresh and relaxed! All the guys there were so friendly and welcoming too, amazing breakfast crepes and we felt so safe with the lovely Vida on duty overnight. We also LOVED having the doggos and cats about, made you feel so homely, Thor stole my heart... Thank you all for a wonderful stay and an extra BIG thank you to Reesha who not only helped with booking our day trips (highly recommend Sandbanks with Captain Osman) but also helped us with our flights when we were due to leave as the airline kept amending our flight times due to being overbooked!!!! I miss you all already.... esp you Thor! ;-)

Maybe the circulation in the pool could have been a bit better, but that´s just a minor thing. Other than that, nothing.

Amazing breakfast, amazing staff and super good location. This place by itself makes me wanna come back to Diani. The hosts gave me lots of recommendations for things to do and places to see, also free parking. 10/10

The house had a quiet ambience with other interesting people staying. The beach was a very short safe walk from the house and the swimming pool was nearby too. There were two good local shopping centres nearby which you could walk to too, one of which had a good bank, so no need to go the the larger centres. We alkso loved the Anchor restaurant on the beach only 5 minutes walk away. Finally, Reesha at Footprints was super helpful in getting us there and away and in organising a great trip to the Shimba Hills Park.

Air conditioning works only 9pm to 5 am, making it almost non-existent as you can’t use it when you most need it ( making it uncomfortable to stay in the room during the day) I had no window net nor mosquito net in my room for the first night. So I cannot open the window and room was very hot. Common area is open air to the garden and full of mosquitos making it hard to stay.

Very clean and nicely decorated room and common area. Owner gave me a great advice even before I asked for it. Enjoyed dogs’ company. Close to beach and a shopping center and Main Street of the village.

Loved the homey feel of the house. It was always quiet and peaceful. The pool was great to use when it was hot and we needed a cool down. The breakfast options always got us throughout the day delicious and excellent. The staff were kind and very sweet.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was nice and the rooms were very spacious. I felt safe as a solo traveller. The owner also kindly let me check out late at no extra cost. I would definitely return.
