How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Verified reviewOur stay was excellent, we liked our spacious room, its proximity to the beach, the food (half board) and the amazing staff. Most of them were kind and swift to action but a few just took their time.
The first day you walk into the dining place, you’ll be clueless. It would be nice if the staff would ask guests whether it’s their first day and explain in a bit more detail how things work. For instance, is it self-service, where do I get the plates, where’s coffee, where can I get a drink (turns out they serve you water at an extra cost if you’re on half-board) We had trouble with hot water and discovered, a day into our stay, that you need to shut off the AC to get hot water from the shower. This should have been explained on the first day. The TV did not work at all and it was never fixed despite asking them to do so several times. The safe stopped working a day before we left so we never got to know if it was fixed. The above weren’t big issues for us, and we really enjoyed our stay at Jacaranda.

Verified reviewThe resort is very beautiful and right on the beach. It’s lush and green and gorgeous! Rooms are spacious (we stayed in a ground floor garden unit), with amenities, and clean. Over and above the big swimming pool, there were also many smaller pools located by the rooms, which was nice. The staff were fantastic, although a bit slow with service in some instances. We did half board (breakfast and dinner), and it was fine. Breakfast was your usual spread and the dinner menu changed daily. Would definitely be back!
The shower flooded, so that needs to be taken care of. The kids club didn’t have planned activities for the kiddies to do - more like a “do what you want”.

Once again there was no toilet brush in the room.... Now the question to the hotel management... do you clean up your poop with your hand if something gets stuck in the toilet bowl? Or are you one of those people who is happy when others have to clean up your your excretions ?

Too many monkeys ! No string or rod in the bathroom to hang wet clothes. Old bath towels which had become frayed . No drinking water was served at the restaurant, even for a paid buffet !! Drinking water kept in the room was insufficient . Once you've paid so much you don't expect to once again pay for drinking water , especially in such kind of resorts

Verified reviewRight on the ocean — nearly in the water. Awesome. Our oceanside room came with a small personal pool that could be swam in while watching the nearby waves. The staff are all very helpful and friendly. Will come again.
The food was not the best. What they served was fine, but for the price there should be more variety in the buffett. Also they do not make fresh water for drinking available except at a cost of $4.50 per bottle—no refills. We ended up doing breakfast at the resort and then took Ubers to nearby restaurants for supper at half the cost.
