United StatesThe food was fine, healthy and plentiful but nothing to write home about in comparison with some other places we have stayed at on our trip.
This place is a peaceful and beautiful sanctuary near Mt Kenya. Get one of the farther rooms with fireplace overlooking the river. The staff were exceptionally helpful and gracious. You can hire a guide to take you on a Mt. Kenya excursion - everything from a nice relaxed day hike at whatever speed and distance you can manage to a multi-day trip to the summit. Our guide was George. He is experienced, knowledgeable and a great conversationalist.

United KingdomKitchen equipment was rather ancient, but still serviceable. We wanted to hire the mountain bikes to do the trail which looked great, but all of them had punctures.
Extremely friendly staff, who were always helpful and quick to resolve any minor issues. Comfortable cottages at very reasonable price with beautiful location and excellent restaurant.

We had first stayed at Naro Moru Lodge 40 years ago and it has hardly changed. It is a beautiful relaxing place. The staff were delightful and very helpful and the food was good.

SwitzerlandI had the pleasure of staying at Naro Moru River Lodge and it was a truly refreshing experience. The lodge feels peaceful, surrounded by nature, with the river flowing right through the property it’s the kind of place where you instantly relax. The rooms are cozy and clean, and waking up to the sound of birds made mornings special. The staff are warm, attentive, and genuinely kind, which made me feel well taken care of throughout my stay. The food was fresh and tasty, and the views of Mt. Kenya made every meal memorable. It’s the perfect spot to unwind, connect with nature, and still enjoy great comfort. I would happily return again I hope my family joins next time.

Costa RicaThe lady at the reception tried to charge us double for the whole booking. These people are scammers. The tried to make us pay again for our entire stay and refused to let us go... Even if i was with my 75 year old Dad and my Mom! These people have no shame! In the beginning they tried to sell us a half day tour for 861$ but i got the same tour with private driver and very professional guide without them for 230$ even including the park entrance fees. Then this place mentions on booking that they have a gym, a personal trainer and a jacuzzi but they don't have that at all. Besides they say the fee for a meal in the restaurant is about 5$ per person but later they charge like the double. Anyhow the worst for me was that they said they didn't get the money from booking and refused to let us go even when we were able to prove to them that the payment was completed on the 19th of August and they just didn't take the money from booking until the 10th of September! After a lot of discussion they showed up with all their staff members as if they were making a very sad and ineffective try to intimate us...but when they realized that we don't care at all suddenly out of nowhere the 3 weeks delayed payment went through and they let us leave! When i asked why they waited until the last moment of check out even if they didn't get their payment in the moment if our check in 3 days before they couldn't give me an answer. The reason why I'm so angry is because of my parents! They shouldn't do such things to older people that's a general lack of respect. Also to stay fair i have to say that not the whole staff looked happy with the situation so some of them are definitely not very happy about their scammer way of doing business but others are. When my driver told them he would never bring back any of his clients the receptionist lady said to him : no problem, just don't come back!

Having stayed at NMRL several times over the years, we went back to Kenya a decade after leaving. I was happy to see Naro Moru so well kept up; the grounds and landscaping as beautiful as ever, the rooms very comfortable and the staff very friendly. Such a peaceful feeling there…
