The place wasn't very clean: the pillow had a blood stain, and there was hair stuck to the bathroom wall (not sure how they got there). The sink was broken, and the windows couldn't close and were not in a good state.

The bathroom and the bedroom in general could have some improvements, but giving the price charged, we can’t really ask for much more!

Nice terrace to relax directly connected with the bedrooms, creating the feeling of being in a bigger apartment rather than a room. Small walking distance to the beach and to one of our favourite restaurants in the area. The breakfast was very good. The value for money is absolutely unbeatable.

Breakfast was okay. The room was pretty nice... we had a fridge and a big outdoor dining table. The bed was so beautifully decorated with flowers when we arrived and we received refreshing juice upon arrival as well.

The pool is a couple of minutes walk from the hotel and when we were there (May/off season) it did not look very well maintained and had construction going on all around it. We did not sleep exceptionally well without aircon and quite big pillows but it was do able.

White House is great value for money and Samuel the housekeeper was exceptionally friendly and accommodating. We were positively surprised by the accommodation which is in great location with a beautiful terrace. We even were welcomed with a fresh juice !

The windows didn't have a layer of protection and it was raining heavily at night making the room very cold and wet since rainfall found its way in making the bed net wet. I wish the breakfast had other options apart from the eggs and bread we had throughout. A touch of Swahili delicacy.

Being close to the beach made the early morning beach walks, swimming and watching the sun rises amazing. Our room was spacious enough so was the verandah and dining area which we had to ourselves. The wifi was fast enough to share our experiences to the world.

No towels provided. Quite noisy - to be expected. Roosters & 5am call to prayer - just all part of the experience of Lamu Island!

The location was amazing, less than a minute to the beach. There was a terrace with a table & chairs, and a couple of day beds which was so lovely to use. The beds were big & comfy. The breakfast was delicious - fruit platter, coffee, juice, eggs & toast. We were allowed to use a neighbouring pool which was so nice! Wi-Fi was good

No water in the rooms. Didn't like the look of the towels but had carried my own as I usually do when traveling on buget.

Excellent location. A simple decent room. Bed was okay. Rooftop with day beds to rest and read before hitting the road. Fairly clean. A fan kept the room cool. The hot water worked.

wifi was spotty - nonexistent. bathroom and kitchen were dirty. the bathroom walls were just filthy, really. the pillows inside the cases had mold spots (it is a damp area so i understand but it was still alarming). I'd happily raise my rating if they'd just clean well.

the location and room were good. I felt safe and secure. the house with its various balconies and rooftops is a beautiful place to just chill out. the fan was sufficient for the weather during my stay. the staff could be a little hard to find at times but he did his best to help me when he could.

Very early morning Call to Prayer from nearby mosque was unexpected ; the loudspeaker was close to our bedroom. Shower was erratic. Floor coverings in need of a thorough clean.

Booking.com stated that we should pay in dollars, but in fact we had to pay in shillings, so had to change the money. We checked in advance that the ferry crossing would be 1000Sh. , but the ferryman tried to charge us 1500Sh. Be prepared for the nearest muezzin to tell you that prayer is better than sleep, at 5am

A good base from which to explore Lamu Island. Plenty of local atmosphere, but quieter than Lamu itself.

IT’S FINE. You get what you pay for, so you afford to spend on other things such as dhow trips, food etc.

They offer a large and delicious breakfast, the view from the balcony was beautiful. Everyone was very kind and helpful and I felt at home there.
