We stayed at Severin from September 2nd to 8th and had a truly wonderful experience. The staff were incredibly welcoming, especially Margaret at the reception and Joshua at the bar — both were exceptionally friendly and made us feel right at home. Our guide, Ruben, was amazing and full of knowledge, making our time even more special. A big thank you to the entire Severin team for making our stay so enjoyable. We had a great time!

I spent a long time traveling all over the coast and stayed in several different hotels, but this was by far the best. Everything was perfect, the rooms were extremely clean, and the staff were exceptionally great. Very good food and a perfectly clean and well-organized resort. I extended my stay three times. If I had to find one small complaint, it would be that we weren't even given a farewell after paying for the last extension—although the lady at reception also seemed very busy. All in all, the best resort I've ever stayed in on the coast.

I would prefer an all-inclusive option to avoid extra costs, especially for drinks.

Breakfast was excellent, offering a wide variety of options. Dinner, though less varied, was still enjoyable. I really appreciated that they allowed me to check in early at no extra cost; it was a thoughtful gesture. I absolutely loved the calming beach view from the restaurant, which made the perfect backdrop as I reflected on my thoughts. My morning walks along the shore were incredibly therapeutic and refreshing.

The staff doesn’t get the room numbers accurate, at check out we were given a bill of things we didn’t order because someone put it to our room or the bartender got the number wrong , they should better their system when it comes to charging things to the rooms to avoid this cause we spent 30 minutes telling them we didn’t order that until they called the bartender. Overall it’s a great place I would recommend it

The food at the lodge was not very good. We dined at another lodge where the menu was amazing and the food was tasty. I believe you need to consider changing your chef.

What is however concerning are clear indications of old white men picking up young local girls around the beach area. It is often not clear whether legal boundaries in terms of child protection are crossed and it is a very bad look on the premises in the area to allow guests these exploitative practices. Law enforcement should step in

I moved to this hotel last minute after I was not happy with my airBnB elsewhere. When I say this was the best decision I made for myself on this trip! From the minute I checked in the staff were incredibly warm and welcoming me - offering me a welcome beverage and taking care of my whole check-in process for me while I took a seat. After I broke my nail during the check-in process, one of the staff members Hare noticed this and volunteered to take me to their spa where they immediately repaired it for me while another staff member took my bags to my room. The rest of my stay remained consistent as one of the best hotel stays I’ve ever had. The quality of the service here is second to none - they are all so kind, accommodating, attentive and flexible. The premises were clean and well-maintained and the food (I tried breakfast, lunch and dinner) was amazing! Despite being a solo traveler, I didn’t feel alone at all.

The property is gorgeous ! Right on the Indian Ocean. You can sit in the dining room at breakfast and the ocean is only a few feet away.

The road to the resort is under construction so it is very bumpy, just to be warned it may not be a relaxing drive to get there.

The staff were fantastic and really helpful, and the view, environment and food was perfect. I was only there for one day/night and I had an early start but the experience was so relaxing and special it was worth the short stay. I really liked the architecture and layout, which was inspired by traditional local roundhouse architecture and lovely open spaces to sit and relax. I had an amazing meal in the Dhow restaurant, which had beautiful traditional interiors and ambience and the service was great. The beach bar was also a lovely setting for a sunset drink, even when the wind picked up. One thing I really appreciated was the sensitive outdoor lighting, which really matched the vibe and importantly is better for biodiversity.

Every other evening, they had a live band playing until.10pm. Unfortunately, so did the hotel next door. For someone who is noise sensitive, having two sources of loud music competing against each other was pure torture.

Staff were great. The rooms were comfortable and had all the amenities we needed. Breakfast and dinner buffet was wonderful. And the I.ani Dhow restaurant is highly recommendable.
