What a great place to stay! Amazing hospitality, clean rooms, nice and filling breakfast with legendary jams, washing machine, internet :) I also went for a guided 3 days hike with Joe and it was a great time. I do hope I will come back!

Incredible stay in Karakol! It is quiet and close to the main part of the city. The property is beautiful with its own garden and friendly dog who likes to greet the quests. The rooms are very comfortable, common area is nice to hang out at and the owner is very helpful. If you have trouble finding the property you can message him, he does a fantastic job at responding. If you want to book tours or need recommendations, you can also reach out to the owner, very friendly and helpful guy. I enjoyed my stay so much that I decided to stay again after Ala Kul trek. Check this place out!

Jo was an amazing host, who really made our travel much more pleasant and smooth! He opens the door of his lovely house, surrounded by a big garden. Rooms are simple but with every comfort you need! The best part is that he really enjoys spending time with his guests, giving them suggestions and talking about everyday Kyrgyz life! If you are looking for an authentic place where to stay, this is definitely the one! We ended up returning to his place after our hiking trip as we couldn’t imagine staying anywhere else in Karakol!

The owner of this guesthouse (Joe) goes out of his way to ensure you are comfortable. He also speaks perfect English, which was helpful. The rooms are large and airy. The shared bathroom is clean. The house is in a beautiful location, just out of the centre, on a river, with a large garden of fruit trees. Breakfast is good.

Stayed here before and after our hike in Ala Kul. This place felt like home for us. Joe was so nice, helpful and hospitable. He had the best food recommandation & helped us with leaving-times of mashrutkas. We are looking forward for coming back to his place! Thanks for everything Joe!

Our stay in By River 246 was really amazing. Zhoomart and his family were so nice to us and helped us with many stuff. Our room was super clean and cozy. There is also beautiful backyard with nice river view. Definitely recommend this place if you are looking for comfortable accommodation with good price and hospitality!

- The location is maybe not the very best for everyone but taxis are cheap and it’s nice to walk along the river. So we didn’t mind at all actually. - A mirror in the room would be nice to add.

Our private room was very convenient with the two beds. Enough space, big window for fresh air and sun light. The common area is also very spacious and the garden is beautiful. We were also able to wash our clothes, the internet was good, the breakfast was adapted to our veggie needs and the fruits from the garden were so tasty! :) There is also a coffee shop with good internet and a coworking space nearby. The host is super helpful, kind and very attentive. Highly recommend staying at this place!!

The best place we have visited in Kyrgyzstan. It felt like home thanks to Joomart and his family who were the kindest and most helpful we have encountered during our stay in Kyrgyzstan. Joomart looked after us as if we were family, he took us around town and drove us to the mountain for a hike and went above and beyond to be an excellent host. The garden is beautiful, the rooms are comfortable and spotless. You can tell he really cares about his guest house and guests. We could not have asked for a better place to stay and definitely will be coming back at some point in the future. Feeling very sad that we had to leave as we had an absolutely excellent time. If you have a chance, stay here because this guesthouse is truly excellent.

Difficult to find the location

The host was really nice and helpful,always trying to make us feel welcome. He even gave us a ride to a new restaurant to have dinner and picked us at the he end. The breakfast was very good. We could feel like home.

No food and restaurant around. But can call taxi coz its not so far from town. Walking 1-2km.

The big house got 3rooms, i booked 2 rooms. Sharing toilet and dining area. They have laundry if need to use can pay to the care taker. They swing chair & big blossom roses outside the garden and parking area. Very nice. The provide breakfast.

Everything was perfect. The best accommodation in Kyrgyzstan we had. The best host ever. He helped us with everything and made our travelling so much easier. If you stay in Karakol, go for this guest house! ☺️ You won’t regret! ☺️

We had an outstanding time here. Jo was easily the nicest host on our trip. He had great recommendations and even gave us a tour of his favorite places in the city. Breakfast and amenities are good standard. Close to restaurants. We took the car to the city center.

Very tasty breakfast (including homemade raspberry jam and honey), great tea and coffee, comfortable beds, clean rooms,  very friendly and helpful host Jo, nice garden, small waterfall behind the garden, cute dog and cat :) not far from the city's centre, we really recommend staying in "By the river" :)
