Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

The authenticity of the place has been truly remarkable. Don't expect luxury, however the facilities are ok; more importantly the quality of the treatment of the owner to his guests is excellent, and the atmosphere vibes have made my staying there so comfortable "le gustan las telenovelas, Victoria Rufo, mariachi", unexpectly nice to hear in that part of the world. Delicious breakfast and tea is prepared quite early, I highly appreciated it,señor! Location is well connected by masruthka or on food (to autovotzal around 3km, supermarket globus around 2km). Chill areas to walk around safely or have meals-drinks-meeting friendly locals and other fellas travelers travelers. Genial, that I'd definitely return to this place if traveling in karakol.

FranceWe stayed a few nights at that place and it was great. There is no hostel's name in front of the door and the first part in under renovation, but do not hesitate to pass the door, The terrasse behind the house is cozy and nice, to relax or have breakfast in the morning. The room was cosy and tidy, the bathroom was clean with hot water shower. The manager adapts to your schedule for breakfast, if you go trekking, you can also take breakfast at 6 am, and that's very convenient. Also, he kept our bags during the duration of our trek at no cost. We booked the nights before and after at his place :) The manager built everything by himself and is very involved in responding to his guests' needs. Nice place to stay, in a quieter area that in the city center, and not far from the main points of interests. We recommend it.

United KingdomNot much to complain about, really. All I can think is that a couple of times the power went out while they were doing work, but that still wouldn't put me off staying here again.
The owner is very friendly and welcoming and goes out of his way to help his guests. This place has a very relaxed atmosphere and is a great place to meet people. If you come to Karakol this is the place you should stay.

United KingdomThey were doing a bit of work to improve the hostel when I was here, it's about a 20 minute walk from the main town.
The place was great to stay for a few nights. The owner was great and very friendly, and gave me all the information on where I wanted to go. The free breakfast was great.

JapanIt was the best hotel! The owner is friendly and like a guest's father. We planned to stay for 3 nights, but it was so comfortable that we ended up staying for a week. I was surprised at the many handmade items that the owner put a lot of effort into, such as the house, beds, and bathrooms. This hotel is constantly being updated! Also, if you request and pay an additional fee, they will make a shashlik barbecue or a traditional beshbarmak in a big pot in the garden. It was super delicious and a great experience! When we stayed there, a lot of people happened to gather at the table, and it became a banquet with people from France, England, Italy, Spain, Kyrgyzstan, and Japan. There was singing and dancing, and it was fun! I was happy to be able to get along with the other guests staying there. My 5-year-old daughter was happy that there were many toys and the park was nearby. When it was a little cold, they even lent my daughter some warm children's clothes. I think he is busy because it is a popular inn, but he always takes care of my children. As expected of a father of 5! I would like to thank Jazbek and his children for the heartfelt and warm breakfast, the environment, and their consideration for various things. I'd love to come back when my daughter gets older!

BelgiumEverything, we felt welcome from the start and the host helped us with everything. He makes amazing breakfast and he even helped us booking another accommodation after we came back from hiking since he was unfortunately booked out that night. Would love to come and stay here again. United KingdomOnly one bathroom (toilet and shower in the same room) tor 8 people, so sometimes had to wait which could be a bit difficult in the morning when leaving early.
Big private room and nice breakfast included. Super friendly host and reasonable price to do laundry. Also stored our luggage whilst we were hiking. Nice garden area to hangout in too.

RomaniaHaving another bathroom or at least toilet can help. Though it never got too crowded.
I stayed three nights in the yurt. It is on the rustic side- has electricity, not a heater or carpets, although there are enough blankets to feel warm. Capacity is 4 people. The owner is a friendly and helpful man, he makes some tasty soups for breakfast.

United KingdomThe garden is beautiful, with lots of fruit trees and shade. The yurt is really cosy, spacious with traditional decorations. The bathroom is big with a great shower which is kept very clean. You can do your washing and keep bags at the property when you leave for a hiking trip. The homemade breakfast is delicious and different each day! Despite all this, the best thing is definitely Jasbek’s hospitality, he is very kind, friendly and knowledgeable. I have been back three times already in the same trip!

We loved our stay at waterfall in the yard. It is excellent value for money, only a short walk to town and very close to the bus stop to get to the beginning of the Ala Kul Hike. Jezbek was an excellent host, he cooked is a different breakfast every day and we could eat fresh cherries from the tree. He even helped us organise a day tour to seven bulls, buskoon waterfall etc. with a local driver for a really great price! (way better than what is advertised at other hostels)

SwitzerlandThis was absolutely our favortie stay in Kyrgyzstan. The host is a legend!!! He will go out of his way to help. He arranged horse riding for the Ala Kul Trek for us and made sure everything was going right. He also took us to the Cattle Market and even helped some other guests to buy horses and cooked a traditional dinner for everyone. It is also a great place to meet fellow travelers. The accomodation is simple but it was a great experience and we for sure will remember this place.

RussiaI stayed at the hostel for 3 weeks! I really liked the vibe of the place. The owner, Jazbek, is an amazing and hospitable guy who will go out of his way to make you feel comfortable. He provides breakfast in the morning - I would say he is a master of soups, I loved them! There is a sitting area where all the travelers meet and hang out. In this way I met so many people and made some friends. I got to stay in the dorm (yurts) and in a private room - all these options are comfortable and clean. The only thing is that everyone has to use one bathroom which can get pretty busy in the morning. Overall, I would definitely recommend staying here if you wanna meet people and feel like home🙂
