Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomNothing. It was all wonderful.
One of the loveliest boutique hotels that we have stayed in on our 2 months of travels. The staff were so wonderful and made you so so welcome. It felt like home. We loved Cambodia too and all the lovely people we met. Gorgeous spacious room (we had a free upgrade as they were quiet) and beautiful pool outside. Lovely restaurant with the most delicious food. What makes it so special is that it is a social enterprise and it was lovely to be able to give a little something back. Will go back to Cambodia just to stay here again!

We stayed for 9 nights as we loved it so much. The staff are brilliant, so friendly and can't do enough for you. The breakfast is really good and substantial. We also ate dinner here a number of times which is freshly prepared, tasty and good value. The Bygone is linked to a charity and the profits from the cafe go to the charity. We also were impressed with the environmental considerations with refill water provided in glass bottles and newspaper in the bins instead of plastic bags. The location is quiet and just a 15 minute walk from the centre or a 5 minute tuk tuk ride. We cannot recommend this place highly enough. A real home from home.

AustriaLeaving. Nothing else to say here really.
Gary is an amazing host. He put us in touch with Mr B - a guide who transformed our experience of Cambodia (this is him on Google maps: https://maps.app.goo.gl/XTThpNiY3CLiZgU88?g_st=com.google.maps.preview.copy). Also: Huge room. Comfortable beds. Breakfast was amazing (you order a la carte from their cafe!).

This is a small boutique hotel with amazing food. Owners Gary & Wendy and their staff made us feel at home instantly. We loved everything during our 5 nights stay. We used their recommendations for all our activities in Siem Reap: guide, driver, restaurant listing, phare circus…. I highly recommend to stay there for a stay in Siem Reap

The room is spacious and super clean. The staff extrememly friendly, and lovely nooks and spaces to hang out and unwind after a hectic day of sightseeing. They packed us a picnic lunch paying special attention to our dietary restrictions, which was excellent and well packed in lovely steel boxes. We loved the breakfasts which were fresh and super yummy. We absolutely loved the owners- Gary and Wendy who were so warm and welcoming, without being intrusive. It honestly felt like we were a chat with friends! Would absolutely recommend wholeheartedly.

United KingdomThe air conditioning is not totally effective but ok with an additional fan
A hidden gem of a hotel in a quiet lane but close enough to walk to the river and the markets. Our room was large and the balcony overlooked the pool. The shower was warm with good pressure. The bed was huge and probably the most comfortable we’ve slept in for the last 9 weeks of travel. Good variety of options for breakfast and we also ate lunch and dinner there several times. The pool was wonderfully refreshing after sightseeing in the oppressive heat and humidity. But the best thing about the hotel were the utterly delightful staff! The ladies who work there and the Australian owners are always smiling, helpful, friendly and welcoming.

United StatesOur experience at the Bygone was outstanding! The property is gorgeous with an inviting pool, and our room was very clean, spacious and comfortable. The owners and staff were amazing and arranged everything for us to do exactly what we wanted during our stay. their tuktuk driver Sopiah was delightful and took us to all the temples at the best times of day to avoid crowds and heat. They also arranged our boat trip to the floating village which we also recommend. The food and beverages at the restaurant were really delicious and they readily accommodated my food restrictions, I think the most expensive items on the menu were only $4! From the moment we arrived with an airport pickup to our departure 3 days later all our needs were met with incredible care and consideration. We really cherish our experience at the Bygone.

AustraliaI could have done with a desk in the room (there are bedside tables) and a handheld shower hose (there is a 'rain' fitting) but these are small things compared to the pleasure of staying here. I will definitely return when in Siem Reap.
Excellent, welcoming, informative and helpful Australian owners and lovely staff. Great breakfast and other delicious, fairly priced meals available throughout the day. Good sized pool and I appreciated the balcony outside my room and pretty dining area. Located on a quiet residential street near the river a bit north of the main areas, a few minutes ride from Virak Buntham bus station. Easy walk to the riverside or to arrange a Passap tuktuk to get around, or rent a moto arranged by the owners delivered/picked up from the house. Room was nicely decorated with good storage, lighting and blackout curtains. Feels like staying in a friend's house rather than an impersonal hotel. The owners are involved with social projects and I liked meeting some of the volunteers who stay there. Handicrafts and board games available in the homely reception/chatting area.

GermanyThere's absolutely nothing negative to say about our stay
The owners and staff were incredibly nice and very helpful. We arrived in the morning but still got served an extra breakfast for free and could also get into our room long before actual check in time. The breakfast was very good (a la carte). You can also eat here if you wish. The rooms are furnished lovingly and everything is very clean and in good condition. Lovely pool area where you can relax. You are always given a bottle of water if you're in the pool or restaurant area. Good wifi.

Great place! Originally booked three nights but ended up staying for five. Garry and Wendy are awesome: they’re super helpful and instantly make you feel at home. Their staff are also really nice and helpful. Rooms are clean, spacious, comfortable and well decorated. The food is yummy and the dining area has a great atmosphere. Location is nice too — located down a quiet street just a quick scooter ride away from central Siem Reap and Angkor Wat. Highly recommend staying here and I certainly will again next time in Siem Reap.

Cambodiainforming us at check-in about the option to pre-order breakfast would have been helpful. We did it for the second morning and it worked really well - food came within a few minutes of us sitting down (of ‘booked time’). Staff remembered our coffee orders which was a great touch too.
I’ve stayed in a lot of hotels in Siem Reap, and it is hard to find a good breakfast that our western and Khmer team all enjoyed. The Bygone is the place! The brekkie board was a firm favourite by 2 of our team. We also ate lunch and dinner there - all meals were fresh and delicious. The menu was highly rated by our team. The location was a quiet residential area, ideal for travellers for work. The owners and staff were all really kind and friendly. Both Khmer and English spoken well. Mozzies deterred well in rooms and outdoor eating area.

The beautiful boutique hotel is run by an Australian couple who have poured their hearts and souls into it, as well as into the social project supporting the local community, ‘HEARTPRINT.’ We had the privilege to visit and were absolutely amazed by the incredible work they have done and continue to do, supporting the people of Cambodia wisely by offering skills and education to improve their lives, including building houses. Thank you, dear Garry, Wendy, and all the amazing staff of the hotel for your kindness, help, welcoming, and for making our stay in Siem Reap so pleasant and unforgettable! The room is very spacious and beautifully decorated, maintaining a touch of history. The large bathroom includes both a bathtub and a shower. We received lovely compliments and surprises upon arrival, including welcoming drinks and refreshing towels, much appreciated. Garry and Wendy, having traveled the world themselves, know exactly what a traveler needs. The beautiful pool at ‘The Bygone’ is irresistible, even for those not big on swimming pools; it will undoubtedly seduce you. The hotel follows an eco-friendly approach with the motto ‘clean & green.’ They avoid plastic, provide free water refills, use local products like shampoo & shower gel, and source food for the restaurant from the local market. Staying at The Bygone allows you to be more than just a common guest; it enables you to participate in the ‘HEARTPRINT’ project. All profits from the restaurant and a portion of the hotel profits go directly to supporting wonderful people in disadvantaged Cambodian communities. The restaurant serves amazingly delicious food, prepared with love and beautifully served by trainees from the project. These young people are trained at The Bygone, performing all necessary jobs to prepare them for future work in the hotel and restaurant business. The girls are so kind and hearty. They and all the team definitely left a pint in our hearts!

The owners Gary and his wife do such a good thing for charity. They teach and give the girls who work there a job. Part of their income goes to heartprint. (Look at internet). The room is beautiful and they serve a delicious breakfast. I realy recomment this place.
