Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

South AfricaAdditional Charge for AC: The necessity to pay extra for air conditioning, while not a major issue during my visit in colder weather, could be inconvenient for guests staying during the hotter months (Feb-July). Location and Dining Options: The guesthouse is a bit further out, and there are limited dining choices in the immediate vicinity. This might pose a challenge for guests who prefer more dining options within walking distance. Water Heater Issues: The non-functioning water heater resulted in cold showers on cold days, which was a discomforting experience.
Charming Khmer Experience with a Few Hiccups Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️ My stay at Angkor Ruby Guesthouse was a unique experience with a mix of positives and challenges. The khmer style rooms lent a charming touch, providing a feeling of staying with a local family. However, the need for an extra charge for AC, while not a big issue during my cold-weather visit, could potentially be inconvenient during hotter months (Feb-July). One drawback is the location, a bit further out with limited nearby dining options. The absence of restaurants in the vicinity might be a consideration for future travelers. Additionally, the water heater issue meant enduring cold showers on chilly days, which was a discomforting aspect of the stay. On a brighter note, the staff at Angkor Ruby Guesthouse were a standout feature—super helpful and friendly. Their warm hospitality added a positive touch to the overall experience, making up for some of the inconveniences encountered. In summary, Angkor Ruby Guesthouse offers a distinctive Khmer-style stay, but considerations like the extra charge for AC, location, and water heater functionality might influence your decision, especially during warmer months. The exceptional friendliness of the staff, however, contributes to a more pleasant stay overall.

MalaysiaExceptional since the owner/manager is a Cambodian that speaks fluent English. He was helpful in many ways from eating spots to navigating my way around town as a visitor. He also has all the services available from money exchange, and tours to laundry services and everything in between.

United KingdomMy experience here was incredible! I will treasure this place for a lifetime. The owners are the most welcoming, helpful people. Everything I needed was provided. They can help you with anything and to get anywhere. I spent hours in deep, beautiful conversation with the owners and I will definitely be returning! If I could give this place 100 out of 5 stars I would!

AustriaOverall, the experience was okay. The room was clean, the bathroom was just okay (clean but quite outdated and old). There was only 1 outlet point in the room and the multiplug we were given was faulty. The wifi BARELY worked and many facilities (eg laundry, wifi in the rooms) were not functioning. What we disliked the most was how money-minded everything felt. Even though Eric and David were helpful, it felt like they did so disingenuously. When we wanted to book multiple trips with their tuktuk (to and from our bus station and to Angkor Wat), they always overcharged. We were quoted $6 for a $1.50 trip (checking the Grab App) and were told that "the driver has to drive from an hour away so it's only fair that you pay $6". We found this to be quite unfriendly and ridiculous considering we had previously booked 2 day trips with the same tuktuk and expected that staying in this guesthouse, we won't be cheated. This made the experience sour for us and we wouldn't recommend staying here.
The location was great and Angkor Wat was easy enough go reach. I appreciate Eric's and David's help with figuring out our bus station and also setting up a space for me to use to take a work call.
