Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

Poland- poor WiFi in the room, worked well only near the door and in the common room - very small room, no space for your baggage and clothes - annoying sheeting, it wasn’t nice in touch and was falling off the mattress - poor location, it’s far to get anywhere - even though we love cats, in some places it stinked really bad with cat pee - breakfast time was really short, only 8:00-9:00 am, also we needed to check out earlier our last day and the day before we asked if we could eat our breakfast 10 mins earlier and it wasn’t possible - a lot of things that are free in other places here aren’t - you have to pay for coffee to breakfast, for disposable bath accessories - the staff wasn’t really nice, we didn’t feel welcome
- lots of cats - free laundry - free, simple, but tasty breakfast - more cats - great, cozy common rooms: microwave, instant ramen machine, purified water, foot massager!! - nice cafe on the 1st floor - quiet, cozy place

FranceMy room was a bit small so it was not easy to move about with my luggage, but I didn't mind too much.
Although not in the city centre, the hostel is close to the train station and the bus terminal, which is extremely convenient. The bus to Hahoe Maeul is also close by (10/15mins' walk), it was nice to be away from the noise of the city and surrounded by books. The owner and the staff were friendly (some of the cats as well!), and breakfast was good – I enjoyed my time there.

I like the nature atmosphere, the homestay is very close to Andong Station (1km). The host is very nice.

LithuaniaThe atmosphere in the whole guest house is so warm and welcoming and the library on the firts floor, which also functions as a caffe, was very lively. Our room was very spacious and had all needed and more, including big windows overseeing the panorama outside. It is a lovely place I would recommend for all, who want an engaging and warm stay!

IsraelAs other reviews mention, the cafe area does smell of cats (litter box+cat food) which I didn't have an issue with because I knew to expect it (and theres a lot of cats so smell makes sense). On my second day I did notice the smell of cat urine in the cafe area, which was a shame because it made sitting there very difficult.
The location isn't the best, its a bit far from bus stops that actually get you around the city, and it was pretty far from downtown. I did struggle finding restaurants to eat at alone close to the hostel. On the other hand, the views of the countryside were beautiful, and I did enjoy the break from the city. The breakfast was good, though its from 08:00-09:00 so you have to be up early. The sleeping area is fine smells wise because its closed off from the cats. The accommodations are also fine, and I was pleasantly surprised by the japanese toilets.

SingaporeThe location was far from the city centre and hard to get food around this area. It was also quite a walk into the hostel from the bus terminal or bus stops so it was hard to drag the heavy luggage. The roads in are dark at night so get back before the sun sets. The room was a little too small with my big luggage. The wifi on the accommodation floors weren’t secure wifi too
The cute cats on the first floor and the washing machine on the third floor

BelgiumNothing in particular.
The hostel is located at walking distance from the bus station and train station (and tourist office), but it is twenty minutes by bus from Andong downtown. The dormitory I had was clean and comfortable (showers and toilets separate). Good bed. Free breakfast. It is also a café-bookshop, where several cats are hanging around. Due to bad weather, I could not enjoy the outside facilities.

MaltaThe inevitable downside to the location is that it's far from the city centre, but it's still a good choice if you're exploring by bus. In Andong, you're either in the city centre or you're well placed for the bus terminal. Not both. The 11pm curfew was strange, but didn't bother me much. There are limited eating options in the vicinity, though a convenience store isn't far away. I was asked to leave my room at 9.30am for room cleaning on one occasion, despite check out being at noon, and there being a sign saying you can stay in the room for even longer than noon if you like. No explanation was given to me. Sometimes I felt like the attitude was a bit odd. When I arrived there was a pot of tea saying "Welcome Drink - Help yourself" or something very similar (forgot exact wording). To be sure, I asked owner if I could help myself to a cup. He reluctantly said yes, but then came (multiple times) to tell me that next time I should purchase something from the cafe.
Breakfast was very good. Rooms were comfortable with the room having its own bathroom. Rooms were kept clean. Around 1km from the bus terminal. This is especially handy because in Andong, both the intercity buses and the local Andong buses stop at the same terminal. So you're centrally placed for all these buses.

United StatesI had a problem with the cafe area downstairs where they serve the breakfast. There are so many cars and cat hair is everywhere! It smells like cat litters, too. I guess there’s no health code in Korea? I don’t think the place is suitable for serving food in my opinion. If you are allergic to cats, definitely don’t forget to take allergy medicine. Staff are too busy running the cafe and don’t care much about guest house guests.
They might have upgraded my room. I stayed at their family room and the room was like a studio apartment! It was big and nicely decorated. The bed was very comfortable. The room itself was very nice and clean. Walking distance from the train and bus station. It’s far from anything else but it worked out as a good base.

The guesthouse is located in the perfect spot to use it as a base point to visit Hahoe village as it is at walkable distance from the train station and the bus terminal. The ground floor is a nice cat café full with books. It is really cozy and welcoming. Here they serve the included breakfast which features a lot of options. The room was very spacious, comfortable, and equipped with literally everything you might need including all toiletries. They let you use the laundry free of charge.
