Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesNo complaints about the hotel, just a note to fellow Travelers about the location. This is a very small and sleepy town. It's good if you want fast entry into the park, but be warned that there is nothing to do here other than hike, and there are about 5 food options. If you want something more lively with options after your hike, stay in Sokcho, which is at least 25-30 min bus from the park entrance.
Rooms are HUGE! Clean, comfortable, and secure. Hot water is not super hot, but the water pressure is good. Facilities also offer free washer and dryer (huge plus for after a day of hiking). Free DIY breakfast with bread, ham, cheese, eggs, and cereal. The staff don't speak English but do their best to communicate through translation apps. There is also a self check-in option for after hours. The building/street looks kind of abandoned on the outside, but don't worry, it's just a sleepy town. This place is perfect if you want an early start or late end to the national park as it's only a short 11-minute bus ride to the entrance.

United StatesStaff was NEVER present. Isn’t a hotel supposed to be hospitality? The breakfast options could definitely be improved. Only cereal, eggs (that you make yourself) and toast. The communal areas (such as lobby) were very worn and not taken care of. Random items lying around. Could use some love and care from staff…
The bathtub and hot blanket on the bed were something we LOVED! Having coffee and breakfast included was also a big plus. The room was spacious, comfortable and clean. The location was great, 2 minute walk to a bus (for the national park) and a few minutes walk from a few restaurant options. WiFi worked well.

United KingdomThe room was spacious, warm and comfortable. Good location to visit the park. It was very quiet out of season but we still found enough places to eat in the parade of the main road. Handy to have breakfast before the walks. Nobody in reception most of the time so not great if you need any info.

IsraelSome of signs weren't translated to English, so we had to figure it out ourselves. For example, how to separate trash, etc.
Nice bonus was a self - served breakfast. The variety is limited, but good enough to start your day. Coffee machine 24/7 was very nice bonus as well.

United StatesNote that the English name on the sign doesn't exactly match the name on the Booking.com page, but the street number matches. The common areas of the hotel are not as up to date as the rooms, which was fine for us but may not be the vibe you expect from the photos. The town around the hotel is quite run down with many abandoned buildings and there are not a lot of nearby shops and restaurants. However, we took the very fancy pedestrian walkway to the local GS25 convenience store which was great and had everything we needed.
Room was updated and very clean and comfortable. A/C worked great (we were there in August and it was hot). Very close to Seoraksan national park; you can walk the 2 miles to the entrance if you don't care to wait for the bus. It's also easy to catch the bus as it picks up just a block or two away from the hotel. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful despite the language barrier.

SwitzerlandThe Breakfast was included but not really worth it. The "Gym" is located directly in the Lobby.
The Room's are big, but a little bit old. Unfortunately the whole area looks a bit run down. I don't know why, becaus the location is just perfect for hiking in the Seorak Nationalpark. There are a few Shops and Restaurants, so you can get everything you need.

GermanyCommunication before arrival was a bit difficult. They could not tell me the name of the bus stop. It's called something like "Shopping district". (A couple of kiosks and restaurants, I didn't need more).
Very friendly owner. You have to use the translator but nevermind. A HUGE room. It's about 3 stops from the NP.

NetherlandsThe village doesn’t have many food options, but there are some and alternatively the owner offers free noodles.
Spotless rooms for a very good price. Free shampoo, noodles, breakfast and coffee. The area is a bit run down with lots of empty hotels, no clue why, but that doesn’t make it feel unsafe. The owners great and does his best to make you feel comfortable. There’s a direct bus going to the park. We chose to walk back from the park which took 40min. You can also stay in Sokcho, but we liked the calm vibe outside of the chaotic city and close to the park.

ItalyThe hotel will soon need some modernization and the area is unfortunately a little downgraded (full of decadent hotels and touristic structures that evidently degraded because of a low touristic flow). It is quite close to the Seoraksan N.P. (15min walking to the entrance), but not close enough in the evening, when you are dead tired after a day of trekking. Luckily there is a bus that drives from the entrance (in 5min you are at the hotel).
Great hotel, rooms (korean style) very big, warm and comfortable, with a large bathroom and a mini kitchen. Staff is excellent, very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was great, too, enough food and enough variety. Loved it!

NetherlandsIt's perfect if you want to go to Seoraksan, but if you want to enjoy the city it's perhaps a bit remote
Comfortable hotel room close to the Seoraksan park entrance. The room is simple but they offer amenities like soap, tooth brushes, towels etc. There are also complementary cup noodles and sodas. The owners are so lovely, they let us store our luggage while we went for a hike, and then offered to drive us back to the city afterwards!

AustraliaBeds were very hard so I had to layer the blankets up underneath me to cushion from it. There were some mosquitos but they didn’t last long after I declared chemical warefare with the bug spray. No Hot spring as mentioned in the name but I probably could’ve figured that out with some research
Pretty close to the Seoraksan mountains which was definitely the highlight. Free drinks in the lobby which was convenient. Room was big and you could watch YouTube and Netflix on the tv.
