Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

NetherlandsIn a short 7 min walk you arrive at the myeondong shopping street or at a subway station. Good variety of konbinis and Korean food around too. I loved the Korean style doors and overall vibes, it was really nice to feel like you're in Korea, not just outside but inside as well! Small personal touch was highly appreciated as well: entering my room for the first time there was a cute note with my name on the bed to welcome me!

PhilippinesNone at all.
We enjoyed our stay here. It is somehow close to public transportation, lots of restaurants to try nearby. Glad we found New Stay Inn. Also, the staffs are friendly. :)

United KingdomThe beds have a plastic liner which can sometimes feel hard but it wasn't too bad.
Staff were very helpful and Hara kept in touch in case we needed anything. Location is good near 3 metro lines and above a store with others around. Less than 10 minute walk to Myeong-dong main street. Shower was a wet room so careful putting things in there and keeping them dry. WIFI was very fast. We were given a little parting souvenir which was a lovely touch.

United KingdomOur room had poor airflow. Pretty much anytime we walked in there was a bad smell and it felt stuffy. But once we turned the Aircon on it went away. Like most places in Korea the bathroom is a wet room as there's not a shower curtain or anything the water would go everywhere. If there was a mop or something it would have helped with clean up but there wasn't. Also in the room instructions it said that a room cleaning service only happens for guests staying more than 4 days (we were only staying 3) but when we returned to our room after day 2 we found it had been cleaned and some empty bottles and a bag we had been saving were thrown away.
The support given by the hotel staff was really top notch. Every message to us was in very well spoken English, there was great instructions with pictures inside the room itself. The TV was already set up in English. It was extremely helpful for us. The property is in a good and well-placed location. There's Chungmuro and Myeongdong subway Station both within a 5-8 minute walk. There's a convenience store on the bottom floor of the building. There's lots of restaurants and coffee shops galore nearby. Included shampoo and body, pretty good value for money.

AustraliaIn a really good location, staff were friendly and there’s a convenience store on level 1 which was a plus! However the walls are very thin and we had some noisy neighbours for part of the stay, and there was mould in the bathrooms. Overall a good stay tho :) thank you

CroatiaSince the room is small, it was a bit stuffy at times, but nothing that couldn't be solved by opening the small window. The window overlooks another building that is very close (you can touch it with your hand). The rooms are not cleaned every day, so you are responsible for the cleanliness of your room.
Excellent location, very friendly staff from the first contact, to information on how to get to the accommodation, and to the very end. The rooms are a bit smaller, we didn't have any view, but that didn't diminish our satisfaction with the accommodation. The location is really great and we could visit a lot on foot (Insadong, Cheonggyecheon Stream, Namsangol Hanok Village, Namsan Tower). Guests can have free coffee, and for a certain fee you can use the washing machine and dryer (which was very convenient).

AustraliaFirst day was a shambles. Mess everywhere in the hallways, constant very loud drilling noise, until 640pm (had to ask them to stop, but am grateful that they did when I explained how awful it was going all day and then into the night). I do wonder when they would have stopped without being asked. Bathroom was clean but lots of black mould in corners, and up the walls behind the silicon is pretty gross to see)
Location. Lovely manager. Convenience store in same building. After first day, very peaceful and hallways were clear and tidy.

United KingdomWe booked a room for four (we basically got two double bunk beds) which is fine but the rooms themselves are smaller than we had hoped. With our luggage and shopping it was pretty cramped at times but it's an hostel so I guess it's not really to blame. We were told towels are provided which is true but they're quite small so probably pack a big one for your showers. The bathroom was probably the thing I didn't like most though unfortunately. It seemed like there was black mold in there and there's no hand wash provided but there is shampoo and shower gel which is always welcome!
The reception area was lovely, there's a microwave and a coffee machine which also dispenses hot water so you can enjoy your convenience store meals with ease (there's a GS25 on the ground floor). There is also cold water dispensers, cups for the coffee and water, towels, toilet paper, plastic bin bags which you can use for your room. The staff are really friendly and pretty chill people which is always a plus. Customer service was solid. The wifi is also super fast which is standard with Seoul!. The location is very good, you're close to all the markets, restaurants and subway stations to get to all the other areas you'd want to go to. just make sure to get a t money card from the gs25 or any other convenience store and a climate card from one of the nearby subway stations for the unlimited travel - It's about 20k KRW for 7 days. (myeong dong, euljiro sam ga or chungmuro should have the climate card).

United KingdomThe bed was incredibly hard so that took some getting used to, and the air con unit made a lot of noise. I could only seem to switch it off by taking the room key out of the thing that let you switch on lights etc but even then it was still quite noisy. General smell in the building of damp but it was no issue for a few days’ stay.
A clean room with private bathroom. I was a little concerned on arrival with how small it was and it was a bit more basic than I had expected based on previous reviews and photos, but it was a fantastic location and in the end I liked the little room. Even the wet room style bathroom which worried me was fine and dried quickly. Great tv options including easy to use own streaming accounts. Good hairdryer, soaps provided, fridge, space to hang clothes and international universal chargers too - very handy. Only met some cleaning staff in passing - they were lovely.

United KingdomThe walls aren't very thick. Some other guests who were staying on my floor were being really loud at night (clearly having a party), I messaged the reception who dealt with the matter and made the group quieten down. But I would recommend cracking down on ensuring people are being respectful at night, but still grateful the staff dealt with the issue when I messaged.
The location is very easy to get to from the airport and main train station. Many interesting areas nearby that are in walking distance, the subway is nearby for when you want to go elsewhere in the city. Staff are very welcoming and respond to messages quickly. The room is clean and for a solo traveler, the size cannot be complained about.
