How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews

Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

Verified reviewFantastic location. Easy to get to anywhere. Walking distance to the shopping street.
1. There was limited choice of breakfast selections, and the restaurant was chaos with tourists at the very first hour. However, the staff were very efficient managing the situation. 2. The air conditioner was very noisy. We could hear that it was working very very hard.

Verified reviewI stayed at the Skypark hotel for one night in October to enjoy the Hallasan package. I encountered an issue with a statement from Mr. Heo at the front desk. The room I initially booked had one bed that was too small for my partner and I (180cm and 163 cm) so we inquired about an upgrade for an additional charge. Mr. Heo informed us that this wasn't possible due to the hotel being fully booked. However, I later found that there were multiple rooms available when I looked on booking. When I arrived to check into one of those rooms after making an additional reservation because I was willing to pay for an additional room since my request for upgrade at cost was met with a misrepresentation, there was no explanation or acknowledgment of the earlier misrepresentation. While I appreciated the hotel’s amenities, I believe transparency and honesty is crucial, and this experience has affected my overall impression.

The week we were there, it was warm in Jeju despite it being December. There were no aircon in the rooms and the temperature in the rooms went up to 30 degrees. Called reception but they said they have no aircon and just to open tiny windows to cool down the rooms… Staff were not that friendly… they have check in kiosk but it is mandatory to use it eventhough the reception is staffed.

Verified reviewBreakfast was good. First time having local dishes for breakfast. Please try their oranges, very juicy and sweet! Every morning, there's a slight variety so breakfast wasn't boring even though we had it for 4 days. Location was great. Multiple bus stops outside the hotel, and there were walking streets nearby as well which grow busy at night. Olive young, restaurants, the face shop etc were in walking distance. Room was clean and spacious. Overall was a great stay :)
Staff could've been friendlier. Couldn't speak English but luckily we could speak a little Mandarin. They were not smiling much and constantly showed impatient expressions and spoke in impatient tone. I sincerely hope that the staff's attitudes can be improved.
