How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

Verified reviewSpacious apartment with laundry facility, fully furnished kitchen in a residential district of Seoul. The landlady was constantly available via WhatsApp and was already waiting for us on arrival. We could not have wished for better support. There was no Airconditioning, but cooling fans in every bedroom making our stay very comfortable!

Verified reviewQuiet street. Owner is a nice person. She filled the cupboard with snacks drinks for us. Apartment is basic, but very clean. No problems at all with apartment. Has small balcony for smokers.
Absolutely no street parking in the area. No living room area - just two bedrooms, kitchen and bathroom.

Verified reviewExcellent location close to the TV tower and with tons of restaurants nearby (uphill) in a charming setting. This place is rather large has everything one needs. The hosts are superfriendly (and somewhere nearby) and stock the apartment with all kinds of food (soups and snacks) free of charge. There was a second bedroom that I did not need but was good for storing the luggage
The only downside is that the blankets do not have a covers (cover sheets) - not sure if this is a good idea as it is not clear how that is been cleaned (there where no apparent problems and likely the entire blankets are washed or cleaned).

Verified reviewStaying here was an amazing experience! The people here were so very kind and helpful. The house itself is quite spacious and has everything you need available. The location is good as well, you have shops and restaurants nearby and if you need something else, you can always take one of the nearby buses. If I were to go back to Seoul, I'd stay here again!

Verified reviewNice, clean, peaceful accommodation with everything you need. You can stay here easily for a longer time, week or so. There was snacks, drinks, shampoos ready waiting for you. The host was very friendly. Everything was good! There is also little food market around the corner. Train station is not too far away.

Verified reviewCompared to other similar options within this price range, it's an amazing place. You have your own bathroom, two (small) bedrooms, a small semi-balcony area in the back with a view on the mountain and tower and a rarely used sports field. The hosts were very communicative, supportive and generally sweet people. They provide a lot of snacks and water included in the price. There is a local bus very nearby, and the area is both quiet and also close to a lot of hip food places. The place is actually bigger and nicer than the photos make it look.
The minor downsides are immediately forgotten by the host their hospitality. There is a kitchen, but it lacks real looking utensils to make dinner. This could be expended. The beds are okay, but not very wide.

Verified reviewVery good transport links. There's a bus (Yongsan 02) 1 min walk from the property that takes you to nearby towns/cities/subways. Place is kept very clean and they have all the essentials. (Washing machine, washing liquid, shampoo, body wash, hairdryer etc.) Complimentary food - a variety of snacks and instant food provided in the cupboard. Provided drinking water. Owners just live in the building upstairs. Quick to respond to messages and tried their best to accommodate us.
No AC. But there is 2 oscillating fan in each bedroom and one air cooling machine in the communal area. Turn on all 3 fans to cool down place. Ventilation is not as good since it's in a basement area but as long as you keep the windows open during the day for air flow it's not a big issue. Toilet felt a little cramped because of the washing machine.
