Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomI didn't like the bathroom inside the lodge didn't have a door and only had curtain.
This was the highlight of our trip to Laos. We ABSOLUTELY loved staying here. We had a beautiful wooden shack overlooking the river. The room was spacious clean and air-conditioning was a must and so appreciated. The owner was extremely friendly as were all of the family. The food was great, lovely simple breakfast. You can use kayaks as and when you want which was such an amazing thing. I would 100% recommend and would go as far as saying it's a MUST if visiting Laos. It really was magical. We also watched many sunsets and the most wildest thunder and lightning storm I've seen in my life. It was incredible.

GermanyThe 5 year old resort is offering 2 Deluxe Cottages, 3 Cottages & 2 rooms; all with direct lake view. located at a small peninsula @ Nam Ngum lake approx.. 25 km south of Vang Vieng (1h taxi ride). All 5 Cottages have bedroom with AC, no fan. Free WIFI in whole resort. Bathroom warm shower, toilet. Veranda with relax lounger, chairs, table & fantastic sunset view. Our Cottage was clean, beds are comfortable, Free 1-seater & 2-seater Kajak use. Sunset - Tha Heua by kajak 1,5km, 20min. If you like it quite & want to relax, this is a very nice place to go. The remote place is not a drawback , it is a gift. At once your feel at home and want to stay. The only sound comes from birds, chichaks, lovely gecko calls & fisherman boats passing by. Nice small garden where free grazing buffaloes come close. The dogs take care and protect the plants & flowers of the garden. Small restaurant right in the middle of the resort with nice lake view. Good breakfast included. Tasty dinner available. Cold drinks all time @ restaurant. Owner & manager is English speaking Chinese with 2 friendly dogs. Kitchen & room-service run by 2 woman. Room leaning and towel change will be done as you will. Laundry 1$ /kg. All stuff very kind and helpful. Cost/ benefit ratio is good. Highly recommended.

FinlandIt’s remote location, so you might like it or not. If you want to walk to the main road, it takes around 30 min from the hotel. The blue bungalow we stayed was a bit worn out. There is not door in the bathroom and there was a bit unpleasant smell. The menu is limited.
Next to the lake, so you have a pretty nice views from your balcony. The room was spacious enough. It’s a calm place where you relax few days. Free kayaks to paddle around. Breakfast was included the price and there was a restaurant so you didn’t need to go anywhere. The owner and the staff were really friendly and the owner helped to organize the taxi from Vang Vieng to hotel.

Japan・after having dinner here, I suffered from stomach ache and diarrhea… ・the power went down a few times while using shower…couldn’t see anything under cold shower.
**Tip to getting here** •From vang vieng The bus offered by the city tour desk uses highway, so it does not stop at this resort. You need to take a local minivan, witch is located “minivan bus stop service“ on google map. Go there and say Tha Heua. I waited for 10min and a shared tuktuk came. paid 100,000LAK ※I left my carry case in Vang Vieng so it would be easier to move around. ※The road from VangVieng to Tha Heua is paved, but from Tha Heua to resort is not paved(1.5km). Although it looked quite stiff and flat. •To Vang vieng I waited on the main road on Tha Heua, after 20min, a shared tuktuk passed by and honked…paid 100,000LAK. ※ My next destination was Vientiane, but went back to Vang Vieng once, and took the tour bus. I think it’s easier and faster this way. Loun from Dokkhoun 1 tour desk was very helpful with figuring this out! Highly recommended

United KingdomNothing property was great The road leading up to the property is very bumpy and I would recommend you rent a decent moped or even an off roading buggy which you can hire from vang Vieng. Or message the owner and he can organise you a taxi :)
The room was amazing and very clean, the bath was super hot and had a perfect view of the lake from our balcony, was very magical especially at sunset. Had 4 nights here and we could have stayed longer, so relaxing. Hotel offers free kayaks which you can use to go to the local village in around 10 minutes.

GermanyStaying at Sunset Nam Ngum resort was a through and through wonderful experience. With two days left on our Laos trip, before heading on to Vietnam it was just the perfect getaway into nature. The lake is so peaceful and you can just sit on your porch the whole day and relax and watch the small boats go by. The cottage is beautiful, overlooking the lake and very private. The resort has up to 7 cottages - so it can never get crowded. The restaurant in the centre is a place where you can meet the other guests or just chill. The menu doesn’t have a huge variety, but everything we had was good. If you plan on staying for a few days, maybe get yourself some snacks, as the town and market are not so close and best reached by kayak ( which is provided to you free of cost) The family is very friendly, they leave you to yourself and spread a very chilled out and calm vibe . All in all a great experience of a getaway into a beautiful natural scenery, a place to calm down and rejuvenate, especially if you are travelling for a while !

PortugalSince it’s quite hard to get to the place (and since in the hotel’s description a restaurant is mentioned) we were expecting to be able to have dinner in the hotel. Unfortunately that was not the case so we had to go by night to the nearest village which is a tricky way in dirt roads with potholes
Amazing view, very secluded place where you can be with nature. Free kayak to use in the beautiful reservoir. Breakfast included. Very cute dogs!

SingaporeMaybe it's due to low season, but would have been good if there were food options available. Or that owner had informed of the limited food options so that we could prepare some food/have lunch before heading over. Nearest town was 1.5km away on dirt roads. Transport out to town is not easy to get which makes food search hard.
Quiet, peaceful place. Hard to get there but its the reason why I love it! Not much people! Love the balcony where one could just chill and relax the day away. There are kayaks free for use anytime. Kayaking around the little islets was pretty fun! Managed to see a beautiful sunset and had some fun with the dogs!
