There is a rooster in the neighbourhood that starts his singing very early in the morning so unless you’re an early riser, you’re going to get woken up.

Loved the location within Luang Prabang. Friendly staff. Villa Wanika was a short (for us) stay in Luang Prabang as we transferred from Nong Khiaw to Vang Vieng. Quick, efficient checking in was welcome after a longish road trip. Situated so close to much of what we like in Luang Prabang, we were able to make the most of our short stay here. We were offered a bed topper upon check in, and after a quick bed hardness check, took them up on their offer. Means that the hotel does read reviews and respond. Appreciated. Our room and bathroom was a little dated and could do with some renovation, but this was reflected in the price we paid so we were more than happy.

It felt that it was an overpriced offer compared to what you get - the room is fine but for this price it should be in a slightly better condition. It also felt more as a guesthouse. Please add more love and care to your place :)

The rooms were a little smaller than we thought but for a 3 night stay it was fine. No TV in the room and no safe which would have been good, but we managed without it. The breakfast included was fairly basic - banana's and croissant type pastries. Instant coffee which was not so good but the tea / hot chocolate on offer was okay.

The location is great. Walking distance to almost everything downtown and the monks walk right by the property every morning so you can easily participate in the monk offerings. The staff here a cheerful and very helpful. We got personal escorts to our excursions booked on the Mekong River so we didn't get lost. The rooms and facility generally were very tidy and clean. Highly recommended.

Hard beds, the staff offerd us an extra madress straight away which was very kind of them. The breakfast was only fruit, croissants and coffe/hot chocolate/tea. It was ok though.

Super friendly staff who were very helpful with taxi booking and answering all our questions. Cozy lobby outside where we enjoyed playing cards and drinking cheap beer and cider från the hotel.

Not much really. Not all rooms have balconies or much of a view if you get only a window. The early morning alms ritual occurs right out front. It's lovely ..as long as you're not the sole participant being demanded by the local women to hand over excessive cash!

Clean and fresh lodgings in prime location. Short walk to restaurants, cafés, markets, Mekong River etc. Very friendly and helpful staff. Cold water for topping up your water bottle. Basic breakfast included. Payment options include choice of currencies / cash or card. Staff acknowledge firm Asian mattresses and offer to fit a topper for us sensitive westerners :)

Staff were lovely... They added a mattress topper as they asked if the bed was too hard! Always a smile and helpful. Room clean and shower good. Breakfast was fruit, croissant, pain au chocolate or cake, coffee or tea, so could be better. Maybe a cereal could be added and some fruit juice. Not everyone wants a pastry in the morning. The monks alms ceremony finishes outside the hotel at about 6.30am, so try to catch that with your morning coffee. Yoga only 4 minutes walk away. Night market only 5 mins away.

Had ro change rooms twice for no apparent reason and pool aream was a bit small apparent dromedary that great value for money

Coffee other than instant would be preferable - but, as it is free, I am absolutely not complaining!

The welcome given by Josh at the reception desk was the perfect start to the stay. The room was a good size and very clean. The bathroom was practical and there was plenty of hot water with a good pressure to give a proper shower. The whole team are very welcoming. The location is really well placed.

Everything- One of the staff showed us several rooms, all the rooms in the basement are full of mold and smelly. We took a room upstairs which was simply filthy - there were hairs and stains on the sheets, the floor was full of dust balls. There is no mosquito net on the windows and the room we entered had an open window so there were a few mosquitoes. The bed was really uncomfortable. The "breakfast" included in the price - a croissant that is placed next to the coffee and banana that are always there, in our opinion this is not a proper solution and it is recommended to remove it from the website if there really is no breakfast.

It says breakfast provided. It means stale croissants and instant coffee with creamer. I think better to just not say breakfast is included at all. Also I realise this isn't your fault but there is a rooster very close to that building that is up from 3am making noise every 3-5 minutes. So you need to mention that it's quite noisy so people can prepare and bring ear plugs. It's so loud I could not get back to sleep after it started.
