The thing i didnt like was that the hotel and the room decor is dated and the room has an old smell to it.

The hotel is situated in an amazing location with breath taking view. The breakfast and dinner were great with plenty of option to choose from. The pool is amazing with staning view.

It was a strange experience. We arrived and the many staff on reception seemed confused and took time to attend to us. We were given the room key, then when we got down to the room, someone came to the door and asked us to go back up to reception and pay for the stay as we hadn't paid (no-one asked us to when we checked in so we assumed we would pay at checkout). It seemed the staff were not clear on their own procedures. They were quite robotic and not the usual Sri Lankan happy personalities. Also there were many, many guests over 70 ish, this gave the hotel a very serious atmosphere, which might appeal to some people, just not us.

The view from the hotel is outstanding and the surroundings are beautiful.

Size of the room and toilet were quite small in comparison to other hotels.

Everything in the hotel was as expected. Though property is a little old, it's maintained quite well. View from the room was quite stunning.

For the elderly, it would be a challenge to get to higher floors as there is no lift facility.

The hotel has a stunning view, overlooking the Kandy hills. The rooms were spacious and clean. The staff were lovely, excellent services, accommodating and professional. Good food and a variety of dishes to choose from.

It's a bit outside of town which meant we had to wait for TukTuk each time. Soundproofing between the rooms could be better.

The room was spacious and clean with a beautiful view. The food we had was always fresh and tasty. The pool was really nice, especially with the view over Kandy.

The room was a little dated but still clean and spacious. We were placed in the wrong room when we arrived, which meant we had to pack up our belongings and move to another room on the second night, which was disruptive.

The hotel is set in a beautiful location with stunning views overlooking the hills. The facilities are well maintained with the pool in particular being a highlight of the hotel. The staff are friendly and accommodating, for example, providing a birthday cake for one of our party as it was his birthday. The breakfast buffet is extensive and there is a good a la carte menu as well.

The downside of this hotel is that it's not in the heart of Kandy. It's situated on a hill and there's a long road to get up to it. We weren't aware of it when we booked, and to be honest because of the trek I was not fussed to be in the town, however if we were staying longer it would have been an issue to take a tuk tuk up and back every day.

Amaya Hills is a fantastic hotel. The staff were friendly and accommodating and even organised a take away breakfast for me at 6am because I was doing a trek.

We had a good 1-night stay but were slightly disappointed, only because the hotel was one of the most expensive we booked in Sri Lanka and not sure it was quite value for money. The bathroom was very small and dated. In the evening the restaurant felt a bit cafeteria-like, very brightly lit and busy, and the few tables on the terrace had been reserved, including by visiting guests (totally fair enough but if we'd known we'd have tried to reserve one ourselves) It was a Saturday night so expect it would be quieter on other nights. Overall a good stay 😌

The views were stunning over the city. Staff were very welcoming and hospitable. The buffet spread was impressive especially at breakfast! Room was very comfortable. Staff kindly arranged a tuk tuk into the centre for us. We were only there 1 night but managed to enjoy the pool for a couple hours, although you can't order drinks poolside.
