The staff are constantly trying to sell gou stuff, whether it be fries when u only asked for a beer, espresso martinis when you only asked for water or overpriced tuctucs

The ambience was so friendly with the nature decorations with flowers, trees in alignment with yoga cottage, swimming pool with a good view of Kandy City. I had a nice run in the early morning & evening with friendly welcome of this neighbourhood. Staff is so helpful & responsive.

There were only two other guests at that time, so not really social for a hostel. Also the English level of the staff could be a little better

It was hard to get tuk tuks due to the location so they put the price up higher because it was up a hill.

Would have expected a bit more given the price point, breakfast very slow and quality not brilliant , and we had to re-explain to staff our breakfast was already paid for.

It was a long walk to the city centre. Some of the facilities needed a little bit of upgrading.

The staff were very nice. We particularly liked the tuk tuk driver who took us all over the place and made recommendations. The gardens are lovely and our bed was very comfortable/

There was an alarm ringing often throughout the night on reception which made it difficult to sleep through the night

It is a little expensive for a hostel and what it has to offer. It would be nice (& also very easy) to put curtains on each bed and a little shelf. Water pressure in one of the bathrooms sinks is incredibly low. It would be nice if there would be offered tours and activities. It’s also a little difficult to reach. You need a tuktuk or walk 2 km uphill. Negotiations with driver at train station can be tough because they want a lot of money for a short ride.

It is nicely designed and has the potential to be a very nice hostel. Friendly staff. Nothing was really bad - a few things could be improved though.

No AC The hostel itself did not provide any organized activities or tours. There was a Tuktuk driver who did offer tours but the main attractions and prices where not transparent.

The vibe was very chilled, I had hoped for a more social scene, but it was just bad timing I think!

My host Tharindu was so so helpful, and accommodating, he helped me with my busses and made a delicious breakfast! The hostel was well kept and I couldn’t want for anything. The vibe was very chilled.

I booked the place, paying almost double the price of other hostels around, in the hopes that it'd be a backpackers hub. I was actually alone for a couple of days and this impacted a bit on the experience. If you're looking to meet people, might be worth checking other options. Me and another person got rashes after the first night, not sure if that's because of bedbugs, but I'd recommend being on the lookout.

The space in Banana Bunks is incredible, with the pool being the highlight of the accommodation. Food was very nice and the staff was very helpful.
