The place is a bit tired and clearly needs a bit of love. The river is not quite as we expected and we probably wouldn’t swim in it.

The tents were clean, the beds were very comfortable and we had air conditioning which was important in the humid mountain climate. What made an otherwise slightly tired looking place a great experience was the personality and enthusiasm of our host. We had some dinner which was simple but good, we did not have breakfast. Our host arranged a safari for us which was really good, in a good quality vehicle.

Nice spot at the river, very nice people but a bit expensive for run down tents. Two tents of four where not really clean. Still a nice place to relax in the shadow.

Excellent stay far far away from the hustle and bustle. Serene and authentic experience. Madhu is just beyond words in terms of his hospitality and his friendliness. He clearly deserves a raise for exceptional hardwork he does. Overall, very good experience.

Everything’s as great

This place was BRILLIANT! The perfect getaway luxury glamping experience. There was Air Con, great food, very spacious cute little huts! The scenery was beautiful. The lovely guide showed us the river in the morning which is a must do spontaneous activity that made our day, an early morning swim in the wild!

Great value for a safari-like stay. The tents are very large (enough space for 3 adults or 2 adults and 2 young kids) and I think they had just gotten new ones as they were in great condition. The staff is super friendly and accommodating. The river nearby was great for swimming.

A gorgeous collection of very cosy tents, we had a great time here. Our tent was comfortable and clean, we were very happy staying there with our 2 year old daughter. The surroundings are stunning, the sounds of the jungle all around you are incredible and overall the whole place feels very peaceful. We were so well looked after by Madu, he made our stay. He went out of his way to make sure we had a good time, gave us recommendations and cooked the most delicious food we’ve had in Sri Lanka. He is a very special person. The safari he organised for us was a highlight of our whole trip. Thank you Madu!

The crew, Madu, Inoka and Chandana were top! They were so friendly, helpful and kind to us. They made twice a great romantic diner. The safari we did was also great. Good location to explore the national park.

Nothing to complain

Everything was perfect. Dinesh made sure our stay was one of the best we ever had. The place was clean and very relaxing. The food was top notch. Excellent service and highly recommended

The pictures are completely misleading. The place looks run down and deteriorated. The access to the river is locked with a gate and littered with garbage. The seating area close to the river looks like it hasn’t been used in forever with all the lights broken. The tent smelled moldy. The restaurant is very dark and gloomy and it is very remote from everything else. Everything feels very abandoned.

The tents were spacious with comfortable beds. The manager was nice and agreed to let us stay only one night instead of two.

Everything. Was extremely run down and dirty. Nothing at all like the pictures on the website. Bathroom was dirty and had dirt all over the soap holder. Cups and kettle but no tea or coffee. Bugs in bed. Sheets had holes. Bed was completely dented in. Pillows big enough for a giant. Staff member almost got away with taking our second pillow when there were clearly 3 guests and meant to be 3 pillows. Food, mid at best. Enough for 1 person. Wifi password didn’t work. Door didn’t even close properly, had to put furniture in the way to stop any uninvited guests. The images of the soap and shampoo where completely incorrect as all we where given was a small soap to share for the 3. Broken hand rails and very deceiving images. 2 huts looked to be out of order and looks to be no maintenance on the property.

The area of the bathroom in the tent didn’t completely close so although the toilet was hidden, any sounds wouldn’t have been. This could have just been our tent.

Modu was a wonderful and super attentive host. He couldn’t have done enough for us. He arranged for us to have a late breakfast after we had done our safari tour, and even gave us plentiful snacks for the journey out. All of his food was delicious. The surroundings of the area are wonderful and rich in nature with the lovely waterfall at the back. The tent was very cosy and large.

We had a disappointing stay. Despite booking with confirmation in advance, the host didn’t seem to know we were coming. The photos are misleading and don't accurately represent the state of the property—it is in desperate need of repairs. The host showed me four cabins supposedly being repaired "next week," and the rest are also planned for renovations. The tents we stayed in were damp, smelly, and poorly ventilated. Note: No hot water and payment by cash only.

A beautiful place that’s well located for Udawalawe park. The homemade food is delicious and the staff are very welcoming. We were made to feel very special, particularly as we were the only guests. We loved the tents.

The property manager Madhu was a great host, and would go out of his way to make our stay comfortable. He also made a lot of vegetarian dishes himself. Highly recommended for a peaceful stay in a natural setting.

Loved Madu’s hospitality, and particularly, his coconut rotis, lentil dahl curry and potato curry. He is very caring and loves to feed his guests! The property has a lot of charm, and also a river where guests can swim alongside Lola, The Labrador. A lovely experience!

Nothing- it was great!

This was one of the most peaceful, lovely experiences during my trip around Sri Lanka. The tents were well equipped, spacious, and comfortable and made for a peaceful nights sleep. Madu the manager was so kind and helpful! The service and food was excellent- homemade traditional sri lankan food in big portions. We had a lovely time wandering around and going for a swim in the river with the friendly dog Lola. We would like to thank Madu and everyone at the property for their hospitality. We will definitely be coming again! Great glamping experience.

Everything was great!

Madu was amazing as host. He made sure that all of the food was suitable for the 5 year old. He also arranged our Safari, which was great as well! We really like the "tents" - which were actually little houses, everything was super clean, and even though it was 35° outside during the day, we did not even need the AC during the night, as the tents are in between trees. We also like the access to the river for a swim in the morning, We definitely recommend to stay there!
