unfortunately, our experience was less than ideal. The room itself was fine in terms of cleanliness and size, but the noise coming from the air conditioning and the fan was unbearable. The air conditioning unit produced a constant, loud humming sound, and the fan created an annoying rattling noise that made it impossible to sleep.

I had a great stay at Hive 68 Hotel in Negombo. The place was very clean and well-kept, which made the stay comfortable. The staff were extremely helpful and always willing to assist with anything I needed, adding a warm and welcoming touch. Breakfast was delicious with a good selection to start the day right. Overall, it’s a cozy spot with excellent service — I would definitely recommend Hive 68 to anyone visiting Negombo.

The bed was a little small, but it was still comfortable. The price of the boattrip was not mentioned beforehand, initially I thought it was provided for free by the hotel. We paid more for the 2h boat trip than for the stay in the hotel.

Hive 68 in Negombo was a fantastic choice for our stay, offering a great start to our Sri Lanka adventure. A standout memory was the private boat ride on the lagoon, arranged by the hotel. Although a bit expensive, it was a serene and authentic glimpse into the local ecosystem and culture, making our trip feel all the more personal and memorable. The staff were very helpful and accommodating. They arranged for a driver and car to take us across Sri Lanka at a reasonable rate, a service we were so happy with that we ended up using it for three other separate trips on the island. The room was basic but had all the necessary amenities. The AC was also very welcome, as it can get hot without AC.

Bacis bathroom. Our shower had an open window/vent which led onto a hollow hole in the wall which made us feel uneasy.

Staff were helpful when an issue arose relating to a mix up with taxi driver. They resolved the matter for us. Room was clean enough, comfortable and good value for money.

There was lack of toiletries in the washroom. But the staff helped us out in that regard, when we needed tissue papers they sent them immediately upon our call.

I liked how this hotel is just beside the Hamilton canal and St. Peter's Church in the background. the view was perfect and the room was very comfortable. The staff were very nice and helpful and even gave suggestions on our next plan of the tour.

Needing the key to lock and open the Door from Inside. Also, the full address needs to be given in the confirmation prominently, rather than just within directions. Tuk Tuk pretended not to know the hotel and took us on a wrong road Should advise those who come by public transport to call an Uber or PickMe

Very accommodating. Gave us early check-in at no extra cost as the requested room on a higher floor was available, when we came about 4 hours before check-in time. When there was an issue with the TV, they came and fixed it immediately.

As mentioned above, the photo's looking onto the canal look incredible and when I got there it wasnt as nice looking out. Hotel itself was exactly as described and pictures tho.

Room is spacious, clean, bed was comfortable and air con in room was great. Staff always on hand to make things more enjoyable, weather wasnt great but obviously that isnt the hotels fault. Would definitely stay again. The photo's of the canal view are a bit misleading which is the only reason for marking down the score. The area looks a bit more worn down than what the photo's perceive.

The octopus night club at 2.30pm I'm not sure.... it's all good. More of a whistle stop holiday, nevertheless wouldn't change a thing.

The church and temple,mostly the small canal walk and the fish market first thing. The baker and coconut milk. And if you are a dancing person a club called r&b. 80s Children's classes of 25 achievement parade

Facilities were good. Beds comfortable. Little things like the balcony door leaked when it rained. Plug socket didn't work on one side of the bed.

Great location just off main Street. Staff very friendly & helpful. We were able to leave our bags there all day until our late night flight.

Well run hotel with helpful staff. Liked that balcony had seating and you could watch life and activity on the canal below. Bottled water provided in room. Attractive on-site restaurant with canal views and reasonable prices. Good quality food....had the most tender and best cooked steak, I have ever eaten! Felt safe as lone female traveller. Took their lagoon trip. Told 12,000 before I arrived, but 10,000 when asked at desk. Convenient as boat is moored outside. Arranged an airport taxi for 3,000. Convenient for airport.

Everything about our stay was wonderful! The staff was incredibly kind, attentive, and made us feel so welcome. The food was delicious and exceeded our expectations. The breakfasts were disappointing with limited Sri Lankan food on offer. The evening meal was tasty but more expensive than we paid in other places.

Hive 68 is well located on a quiet road in the centre of old Negombo overlooking the canal and church. It's a short drive from the airport and a short tuk-tuk ride to Negombo beach. The rooms were comfortable with good A/C. The staff were friendly and helpful organising a taxi to the airport for us.
