How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.

Verified reviewThe highlight was definitely the staff - they were really helpful and friendly, the breakfast was great - a lot of different things and the accommodation was (in our experience since we were travelling a little bit on a budget) really nice - with a/c, good bathroom, the highlight was also the pool.
The facilities could use some small repairs, but nothing serious

Verified reviewStaff really friendly and super helpful but the resort is dated and not everything works properly. Air conditioning leaked, lights hanging off the walls, rooms safes not screwed down, towels had holes on them , some days it you got hot water others you didn’t.
It’s a bit tired and needs a refurbishment

Verified reviewThe wonderful hotel staff because they were very nice, specially with my child, he loved them all. The shower had nice pressure and was warm enough, rooms were clean and ac was working perfectly. The location was quite close to the beach and restaurants. If I was coming again to Trincomalee I would repeat in this place.

Verified reviewWe were really scared after our experience we had before we went to this hotel, but nothing to worry about. The staff were one of the better ones we had in the hotels during our trip, Thuray and the other staff have been more then amazing, they made sure we were care free. Because of joint issues a good bed is necassary for me, something you don't find in all the hotels, but of all the hotels during the trip, this hotel had the best bed. The hotel was clean and i felt treated like a queen, nothing seem to much, even though they work crazy hours and days, we have been served with a smile on their faces. The hotel has basic rooms, but everything you need. Definitely recommend this hotel
There were no dissapointments, the mat infront of the bathroom was warn down and dirty, but we told them and they would change it. And breakfast is lovely, but the same every day, which can be a bit boring, but when i look at the price of this hotel, they definitely ad more value to the money you pay

Outside buffet was disturbed by the crows and utencils look a bit dirty otherwise everything else was perfect, rooms and washrooms are nice and clean.

Verified reviewStaff were great, super friendly and helpful. Location was also fab as can easily get down to fernandos easily which offers a wide range of food and drinks or you can walk down the beach to other places to eat and drink which are lovely at nighttime. We hired a scooter through the hotel and this was super easy and affordable to do and allowed us to go and explore further away. Aircon was effective and cooled the room down really well. We had 2 balconies, one by the front door which overlooked the pool and was beautiful when dark because of all the lights and the back balcony was really handy for drying clothes off. Bathroom was a good size and had the option for a cold or hot shower. Had a small shampoo and shower gel bottle left as well as a hand soap. Bed linen was clean and the fridge was working and cold. At night time they locked the gates and had someone there to let us in when we came back which made it feel quite safe. Breakfast included freshly made omelette and a fresh juice as well as other local staples and toast etc. Staff were always very attentive and friendly and made us feel very welcome.
No safety deposit box even thought it was included on the listing. Tv didn’t work (but we didn’t mind and I’m sure if we had asked someone to look at it they would have been able to sort it out). Lots of big red ants (weaver ants) where the sun loungers were so couldn’t sunbathe without them crawling around

Verified reviewThe staff were kind and tried to be helpful, although communication was difficult due to very limited English.
Unfortunately, our stay in Room 106 was very disappointing. There was no internet connection inside the room, The room and facilities felt very dated, with a damaged fridge and even frogs in the toilet. Flies were everywhere, including at breakfast, which was served outside with no cover or protection for the food.The overall Hygiene and upkeep were below standard. I am sorry to say this, but I would not stay here again or recommend it based on my experience.

Verified reviewThe staff were very helpful and friendly, allowing us into our room early. The room we chose was also a good size. The location was a short walk to a lovely beach. The Sri Lankan breakfast was great with good portion sizes.
The room had a few flies and there were some ants in the bathroom - enough to be noticeable, but not enough to put us off.

Verified reviewThe staff was the only thing we liked about this stay.
The property was very run down and dirty and on arrival we had to change rooms due to a sewage smell coming from our bathroom sink only to find that it also was coming from the free flowing water outside the property that looked and smelt like sewage too. This was also right next to the kitchen. We didn’t eat at the property because of how dirty the kitchen was and the restaurant. There were flies everywhere in the restaurant, the walls were black in places including around the serving hatch where the staff were leaning up against. The tables weren’t clean nor were the placemats. The outdoor pool area required lots of work including repair of broken tiles, exposed wires and broken and dirty sunbeds. There are no toiletries in the rooms, the fridge smelt bad and the bathroom was very grimy with cobwebs and dirt on the walls and ceilings. Incredibly overpriced for a below average stay. Wouldn’t stay again and would advise anyone who is looking to stay, to not eat the food.

The room was not clean, the equipment was outdated, there was a frog in the toilet, no hot water and especially no water the next morning, the breakfast was very average. We stay one night and we really wanted to leave the next day :(
