Basically nothing - but we would welcome it if the old sun loungers and parasols were replaced. There are also no sun loungers on the beach.

My sister and I spent one night at Mawella Beach resort. We really enjoyed it and the staff are extremely friendly. Ranul the hotel manager helped us with any questions we had and Sujeewa (staff member) was always accommodating. The chalet with garden view is generously furnished and clean. It is in a very quiet location and you have direct access to the private beach, which is very beautiful. It was an all-round successful stay. We would recommend the resort to anyone looking for nice accommodation in a quiter location.

There were lots of ants around the pool area and there was no atmosphere as there was no one around and no music.

Room was very modern and spacious. Breakfast was nice and staff were helpful. They even let us have a late check out which was useful!

Nothing, everything was perfect!

Staff is excellent. They assisted with local transport, laundry, massage at the property! Great food at the resort. The chef is outstanding. We tried a different restaurant in the area one night and came back every night to the resort as the food was so good. They even cooked a fish we bought from the local fisherman perfect! Room are HUGE! Bed was comfortable. Beach right in front of the resort is beautiful and quiet. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

The visa machine wasn't working. Not a problem though we travelled to a nearby town to get cash. There is no alcohol available onsite. Ranul assisted in getting a TukTuk to pick up some cold beers however it would have been better to know this in advance so we could arrange it ourselves.

A beautiful set of Chalets a stone's throw (literally) from Mawella beach. Great staff, especially Ranul who made a real effort to make sure everything was to our liking and was always on hand for assistance or to answer any questions. The Chalets are large and modern with super comfy beds and AC. Lovely pool if you don't fancy sea swimming, The beach was amazing to relax on too. Good food with a very large breakfast included! We ate both the traditional and Western breakfasts and were impressed with both. We also ate at the restaurant for dinner, good choice of options, great food. The Chef even made our daughter a Spaghetti Carbonara which was not on the menu! Overall very impressed with our stay. We felt looked after and the location and chalets were stunning.

This resort was an amazing find. The room is elegant and very big. What’s best, it’s located right at the Mawella beach which was practically a private beach. Not many people. The resort also has a pool so when you get tired of the salty ocean water, you can cool yourself in the pool. There is a great restaurant SeaDragon right at the beach with the best food experience of Sri Lanka.

some love it some miss it: the place is located more quite so if you expect to go out the street and find places to eat etc. you will not find a lot.

it a really nice and peaceful place! directly at the beach, that is not crowed at all. but this might be because there were not a lot of tourists at the same time in general. the manager was lovely, he helped wherever he could and was very friendly. his English was really good so we could also asked a lot. was very clean and really big rooms! breakfast was totally ok!

During our stay there were sometimes 12h power cuts (=no wifi, no light, no water) due to the current situation in Sri Lanka.

Nice beach in front of the hotel. Small hotel with just 5 rooms. The staff is really eager to assist with every need. Breakfast ok- like everywhere in Sri Lanka (toast, egg, fruit juice, coffe, tea, fruits) The location is a bit isolated. You need tuktuks to get around. Tangalle is Around 20min by tuktuk.

I would have enjoyed a little tastier breakfast-but that was more than made up for by the lunch menu; the 'finger fish' were delicious. Bed has a wooden surround which looks nice, but is painful when bumped into in the night.

Facilities were fantastic. Large rooms, close to outdoor restaurant, pool, garden and beach. Very helpful friendly staff as well as the owner and his son. They made many arrangemnts for us during our stay.

This accommodation was one of our favorites on our trip at the south coast. We planned one night and stayed for 4. Excellent value for money! The room is huge and has a little sitting area inside and outside. The wonderful beach is right in front of it. The beach is quiet and relaxing. Two very nice restaurants are right next it at the beach. The very tasty breakfast is served in a nice area. We enjoyed the very nice talks with the staff -very friendly and heartwarming people!

I think it can be a bit cheaper, for example water cost here 440 LRK which is crazy :) Also the beach is not very cool, so better to take tuk tuk to Tangalle. Not much else around here.

We had a very nice and spacy room with a nice view. The airconditioning was excellent. The manager and the staff were very kind, helpfull and caring. The food was delicious: fresh fish at a reasonable price. On our request we got a Sri Lankan breakfast. Very tasty and well prepared. The beach is clean and quite. We can recommend this accommodation to everyone. We loved our stay here.

The breakfast was very simple, but that was totally fine. We ordered some food for dinner and unfortunately we couldn’t eat it. We have to say the prices are very high (for a small fruits plate more than LKR 2000, around 6$). We ordered one after breakfast and after that we felt so bad and had to stay in bed the rest of the day.

The property was clean and we had a very comfortable and big room. The stuff was friendly and helped us to arrange a taxi or tuktuk.
