GermanyBathroom sometimes smells. The menu sounds good, but they just got a few meals available. Pool is very cold and a bit old not like the picture. Everything is a bit old. That's OK, but the pictures look different.
The hotel is at a quiet place outside the loud city. The staff is friendly and helpful. Rooms are big and with AC.

MaldivesThe property sits in a prime location up in the mountain. However, due to years of negligence, the building and the surrounding shows aging. There are three staff members who works roughly 18-19 hour shifts daily, therefore the customer service fell a little short and you can see how much they were struggling to cope with the hectic environment. We drove from Colombo to Kandy on the day of check in and arrived at the property roughly around 18:00. The receptionist couldn’t find my booking during check in and had to call their reservations department. The reservations manager was very upset and confused about my arrival and asked for confirmation from her regarding the booking. After a back and forth conversation they were able to find my reservation but had overbooked the hotel during my stay. She mentioned that I can only get a nights stay there and would need to check out one day earlier, which was very disappointing. We got our stay finalized according to what we booked after getting the booking.com Customer service involved.

Sri LankaVery remote location, hard to get to/find. We were given a room that had a thin plywood door leading to another room with a crying child - we heard every sound. After we complained management provided another room. Dinner and breakfast were really disappointing. Also very long wait. There was no hot water in the evening and in the morning, a broken garbage bin in the washroom, ants. Horrible smell in the room (smelled like naphthalene). This joint is way overpriced for what you get. Also, I don't know what people who give this place a "10" were smoking.
Unfortunately, there was not much to like.

Melheim Kandy Villas We only write five-star reviews, but only when five stars are really deserved. In the case of Melheim Kandy Villas we wish we had ten stars to give! All things considered, Melheim Kandy might be the best place we've ever stayed. Hotel Located high in the hills of one of the most exclusive neighborhoods in Kandy, the hotel commands a beautiful view down a valley with slopes covered in towering pines. Several African Tulip Trees nearby were stunning in their full crimson blooms, while more distant green canopy trees provided dappled sun on the lawns. The hotel common areas are very beautiful, with highly polished stone floors, art objects, and a wide variety of antiques displayed. There are also many reprints of Sri Lankan historical photographs on the walls. There are both indoor and patio dining areas available, depending on the weather and your preference. The pool area is tidy and the clear water was slightly chilly, which we loved. Plenty of sun was available for warming on the lounges after our refreshing daily dips. Overall the atmosphere is very rich and luxurious, but still comfortable and welcoming. Room We walked into a fresh and well-lit large room (303), with a soaring ceiling, well appointed and perfectly clean. The bathroom appeared newly remodeled, and included full amenities. Every room we saw includes a spacious balcony with lovely chairs and table. Instant coffee, tea, creamer, sugar and kettle are in the room. These and bottles of water are supplied daily. There was a small fridge. The WiFi was strong in our room and available throughout the hotel. Food The Western and traditional Sri Lanka meals by Asela were equally delicious. The pork chops were to die for. Oh, and the mashed potatoes were SO tasty. The Sri Lankan dinner was the tastiest of our whole trip, during which we tried ten or more. Wow! 🥰 We ate all three meals at the hotel both days. Our only complaint was that breakfast was way more than we could eat.
