Excellent homestay. Felt like home. Spacious clean rooms with modern bathroom at affordable price. A lot of greeneries around which made the place very appealing. They offer nice home cooked meals as well. Wasantha was a nice host who is always with a smile and willing to help for anything we need. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Highly recommended :)

This is one of the cleanest establishments I have ever stayed! The host family is extremely welcoming as well. Sayare is a great place to stay in Dambulla, near the Golden Temple and Cave Temple. I highly recommend it! For just $14usd you can get a room with A/C and breakfast.

The accommodation is exceptionally pleasant and clean. The room includes air conditioning and toilet paper — which, surprisingly, isn’t always guaranteed in Sri Lanka. In front of the room, there is a lovely little terrace surrounded by greenery, where you can enjoy breakfast or dinner. Breakfast is included in the price, and overall, the accommodation is very reasonably priced for what you get. What truly stands out is the extremely kind and helpful host, who is always happy to assist with any questions or needs. He even gave us a personal tour of his herbal and vegetable garden, where we got to know some typical Sri Lankan plants, fruits, and spices. If you wish, the host can also organize tours to nearby attractions or drive you to town in his tuk-tuk. Dinner is also available at the property for a very affordable price, and it is absolutely delicious!

The owner is very friendly. The room was comfortable and clean. We rented a scooter from him for 3,000 rupees for one day. He also organized a safari for us and took us to the bus the next day. The breakfast was nice and tasty.

One minor negative aspect is the breakfast. It's not really about the breakfast itself, but about the timing. On one day, we wanted to do a sunrise tour to Sigiriya and asked for the breakfast as takeaway. Unfortunately, that was not possible. It was also not possible to eat the breakfast later when we got back, for example, in the afternoon. They only would have had to put the breakfast in the fridge. But for whatever reason, the owner refused. We got a discount of about 500 rupees (about 1.65 USD) instead, which is unfortunately not enough to get breakfast someplace else. Furthermore, the breakfast is not served on time. Another day, we wanted so eat at 8 am but finally got it at 8:30. So if you are on a tight schedule, better do not rely on having breakfast there. Furthermore, there are (only) two types of breakfast that vary from day to day. For us, the toast breakfast was only little filling, but it was still okay. Even though we did not have dinner at the property, the prices were two to three times more than what you usually pay in town. Last, the accommodation is a little bit outside town, so you need a scooter or a Tuk Tuk to get there.

The room and the surrounding area are well maintained and sparkling clean. The room itself is bigger than we had expected and the bed was comfortable. There is a seating area in front of the room so you can have breakfast or sit there in the evening after a long day. A little garden with plants, flowers and a hammock add to the place. The bathroom is okay. The only negative thing is the drain which is located on the opposite side of the shower, so you flood the whole bathroom every time you take a shower. However, since there is an AC, the water dries quite quickly. The owner and his wife are nice, yet - as everywhere in Sri Lanka - the language barrier exists. We could even rent a scooter on site and the owner brought us to the bus station after our stay. Given the price that we paid, I would stay here anytime again.

The place has a nice and quiet garden, you can have fresh food at the place, decent prices but for tourists. In the city you will eat better and cheaper. The house is made like a hut, wood or something, not real cement walls. But is ok, you feel ok. The owners are nice, small local business. For air conditioning you need to pay extra, 2-3 dollars per day. Not the best price but decent.

Beautiful and quiet property near Dambula. Spacious very clean and comfy rooms and the best hosts! Every morning fresh and delicious breakfast is cooked, they helped us get a motorbike for the day and even drove us to the bus station on the last day. Can’t recommend enough, would definitely stay there again when in Dambulla.
