Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SpainWe stayed for 3 days during christmas 2025. The hotel and its breakfast was breathtaking. It is a relatively small hotel (only 4-5 rooms as far as I know). The rooms are way more spacious than what it looks in photos and it has a terrace! It really surprised me. The location is remote, apparently there are even elephants roaming around. We saw on the property some monkeys, peacocks, and tucans. It felt like being on a safari in the comfort of the hotel. And surprisingly enough, there are no mosquitos in sight even at night! We still put repellent on but we got no mosquito bites. And man, let me talk about the breakfast. It is sooooo worth it. It is more like a brunch in terms of quantity. The quality of the food is just on another level. Fresh juices, fruit,...etc . I recommend going for srilankan food instead of the western stuff. Also, the staff was very attentive at all times. Maybe just to keep in mind: since it is remote (which is amazing), the way to get there might be tricky for big vehicles. Our van driver scratched the vehicle getting there unfortunately. I though this place (just like the surrounding area) was overpriced but damn, this place is so worth the money.

TurkeyEverything was great.
Love this place. Love the location. Loved that there are only a few rooms set in a great garden. Always tranquil, serene. The entire staff could not have been more friendly or more helpful. Special thanks to Sampath and Adi for the delicious food and the care they took to give exactly the right level of spicy. Also, for taking us for a walk when the hotel was quiet. This was our second time in the hotel. We came to Sri Lanka in 2018, and now, when planning our second trip, the first thing on our list was to book a revisit. It was even better. The garden is more lush (the gardener never stops!). And the pool area has been improved: it was gorgeous after a long hot day out. Best wishes for the new season: we would love to return one day.

The owner Sanjeeva and his team went above and beyond to make out stay enjoyable and were very helpful in helping us arranging transportation and activities when required. Rooms are very clean and beds confortable. The lounge and pool area are beautiful and quiet. Food is really nice. All in all, a little paradise to come back to after a hot day discovering the area!

United StatesWe stayed at Sevanagama at the end of Jan 2025 and loved everything about our two days there. The room was facing the gardens, and in the morning, we could see hornbills flying by. The owner gave us a lot of great advice about places to visit nearby and organized a car to go to Kandy when we left. For us, being a bit further from the main road was perfect to enjoy nature and tranquility with delicious meals in the evenings. Wish we could have stayed longer.

My husband and I spent five nights at Sevanagama where we based ourselves to see the cultural sites. It was a perfect setting to come “home” to each day. I loved waking up to the symphony of birds and jungle sounds while sitting on our balcony with a morning coffee. The grounds are well maintaining and lovely. We ate dinner there every night and found the food and service to be very good. Special thanks to the manager, Indika, for taking such good care of us. Highly recommend.

FranceIt’s not that we didn’t like the property, but we thought it was a little over-priced compared to other places we’ve stayed. A few things weren’t the best, for example the air con unit is on the balcony so if someone is in the room, you can’t sit on the balcony due to noise and the heat blasting out. There was no fridge in the room (everywhere else we stayed we had a fridge and lots of bottles of cold water). Also the food was expensive and one night (western bbq) it wasn’t very good and it was 20usd per person which is very expensive for Sri Lanka
The hotel is stunning , beautifully furnished and decorated and set in a lovely garden. It is so peaceful and relaxing. You see peacocks , squirrels and heat and see birds. Just lovely place to relax. Excellent breakfast, huge bedroom with very comfy bed, great shower too and a lovely swimming pool.

An incredible little hotel perfect for a safari trip! Welcoming staff, very clean, gorgeous rooms, comfy beds, and the staff helped us to secure a jeep driver for our safari trip the next day. Safari is a must if staying here, we got to see a heard of 120 elephants in the wild which was amazing! We got woke up the next day with a fright as monkeys ran across the roof, but once we realized it was monkeys and not an intruder we thought it was funny and a story to tell! We woke up and then spotted peacocks roaming around the ground on route to breakfast. Food was amazing here, very fresh, and generous portions. Would certainly recommend!
