Food was average, buffet style. No other options around for food. Nothing much else around only a good stay of you are doing safari.

No issues with the room or staff or buffet. Only a few minor issues with the bathroom. The shower cubicle door seemed to have been broken at some point and had not been replaced. The hot water was a bit slow at times but also wasn't a major issue.

The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The President's suite was massive and absolutely gorgeous with a beautiful view of the little lake outside. The beds were great and very comfortable and the room was well ventilated and bright. Bathroom was equally massive and all the fittings and taps worked without issues. The staff were helpful and arranged a safari tour for us and provided all the necessary details. The breakfast buffet was lovely and the servers were extremely attentive and went out of their way to provide us with everything we requested.

The WiFi was not great.

Size of the rooms was very good, swimming pool was excellent, but the absolute stand out best feature of this hotel is the excellent staff throughout, with particular mention of Sumeera Navinda, who works in the restaurant and went over and above in making our stay an excellent one.

The restaurant staff were a bit arrogant and we saw them sort of misbehaving with other group of guests.

Rooms are big with spacious balcony and clean. Food quality was mostly good. Restaurant is nice and comfortable too. Bed quality was good.

This is harder to pinpoint. The property has the potential to be exceptional with a few tweaks. For example, some shade by the pool would be great as it is fully exposed to the sun- I understand that parasols etc might detract from the totally Instagrammable appeal but a vine covered pergola / structure would allow some relief from the sun. A cool space to sit after dinner, maybe with a bar, would also be great as there is a small place to sit on the second floor but it was very hot and not all the seats were comfortable. Also the staff , although very smiley and attentive, appeared to be unsure of their role- perhaps this is due to the language barrier- for example , we asked reception for pool towels multiple times before we got any,similarly the air con was leaking in our friend’s room making a large puddle on the floor- the puddle was mopped up but the unit wasn’t looked at resulting in a further large puddle. The buffet was good but repetitive, we asked to order off their menu and the food was delicious. It wouldn’t take much for this hotel to be excellent, the rooms are the largest I’ve seen, it needs better managerial direction.

The location was stunning, the rooms were enormous and the setting was very quiet and peaceful.We had the best sleep of our visit to Sri Lanka here.

Payment was insisted upon only in local currency,as was in other hotels of Sri Lanka.

Breakfast was good, but not always offered buffet. The general Manager Feroze Cassim was very helpful. Location was excellent,in a good part of Kataragama,overlooking a lake. Wonderful size of room and spacious balcony.

We aranged breakfest bag with us for safary ride, safari was canveled, but breakfest bags wasnt prepared. If safary wasnt canceled, it was not good to go without any eating.

my number was very close to reception, I was afraid at the beginning it will be noisy, but it wasnt noisy. I can go to the pool directly from my room, it was excelent.

There were some quality control issues. The kettle in the room was corroded and its lid was broken. It should have been replaced. There was an old, discolored and torn towel given to the room that should have been thrown away. The magnifying mirror in the bathroom was broken and only the handle was there. The in room cupboard was warped.

Location was perfect to go to the temple. Staff were friendly. Property was large, airy and clean. The room was extra large with a large balcony. No mosquitoes and bugs in the room. Sheets were clean. Air conditioner was working fine. When asked they provided an iron to the room. There was an in room safe.

Some facilities were not really soo good but averagely good, as examples, electric kettle was not clean, wash room was not very clean also A/C was not working properly. Also we had.to.wait more than an hour to fix the TV.

The a/c was noisy even after turning the fan to minimum and pointed straight at the bed. One of the beds was a bit creaky. Some of the fixtures in the bathroom were looking a bit tired. No cover on route to the restaurant if it is raining (but staff on hand with umbrellas)

It’s all about value and when we stayed value was delivered in bucketloads. As ever in Sri Lanka you get a warm welcome we got a room upgrade too. You can’t go wrong we were only here for 1 night to allow a safari trip in Yala NP. Perfect.
