The shower in one of the rooms had low water pressure but the other one was fine.

The room was basic but clean with good air- conditioning. There was a double bed and a single bed in each room. As a family of five we booked both rooms, which seemed to be the whole hotel. The pool was excellent - it was very refreshing at the end of a hot day. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, and the food was homecooked and delicious. We booked a game drive through the hotel and the guide-driver was knowledgeable and helpful. He seemed to take us to different parts of the park from the other groups - we saw many crocodiles and elephants. The location was excellent, with only a 15-minute walk to the entrance of Udawalawe National park.

The hotel managed by Lahiru Prasad is really amazing! They have a beautiful and new structure, that is situated near the entrance of the Udawalaue National Park. The experience there was amazing! We slept in a bungalow with the swimingpool outside. Beds were really comfortable. The Meals there were really tasty and good. For the Dinner we had the chance to choose what to eat (it wasn’t obligatory to eat the same things). The breakfast was really amazing, it was so big that we hadn’t lunch! The cook girl is really good at it!

Close to road but noise not intrusive

Very close to safari. Lovely pool. Very friendly and welcoming hosts. Welcome drink on arrival. Exceptionally good food. Beautiful garden. Offered tours which looked to be good value, we didn't take this up as our safari was already booked through driver company.

There was no menu and although we found the meals tasty, thought they were a bit expensive for what they were and there weren’t many dining options nearby.

Friendly family run spot very near Udawalawe National Park. We had the 2x family rooms by the lovely pool and it felt like we had the place to ourselves. Chamil and his family were really friendly although had little English. They organised a morning safari for us and a taxi onto our next destination.

No shops nearby, but that was not that big an issue with us staying just one night.

Nice fairly new apartment with a great pool that is close to the park entrance, what more could you want. Chamil booked us an amazing safari as well. We also saw some elephants just from the main road.

We booked Walawa Reach for one night as it was really close to the entrance of the safari. There are two rooms and we booked both. The rooms are incredibly clean. They are basic but comfortable and did us perfectly for one night. The pool area was a bonus for our kids, it was warm and very clean. They rated it the best pool out of our trip. The family who run the guest houses are lovely, it was their new year holidays whilst we were there and despite having their own family there for the celebrations, they could not do enough for us, we were collected at 5.30am for our safari and they were already up with a breakfast packed and ready. They stored our luggage until our return and were happy for the kids to use the pool again and us use one of the rooms until our driver collected us again to move on. For the price I could not have booked better, excellent value!

We had a power cut and communication could've been better as we didn't have electricity for ours, but I think this was due to language barriers.

We loved the location. We watched spotted deer and monkeys in the park which was just the other side of the road from the property. It was also very close to the park entrance which was convenient for an early morning safari. The room was spacious, clean and had a/c and hot water for a shower. The pool was a good size and was sparkling clean. The safari was well organised and had a good driver. We thought the stay was excellent value for money.

However, there are a few downsides to mention: the bathroom could have used a tool to help drain the water more easily. The bed was very squeaky, which made sleeping a bit difficult. We also noticed some cobwebs, stains on the sheets, and a torn mosquito net. Additionally, we found the meals a bit expensive compared to the room price, especially since there weren’t many dining options nearby. The owners were well aware that we would likely eat there.

Great value for money! We especially enjoyed the pool, which was perfect for relaxing after a day of safari. The location is ideal, very close to the safari entrance, which is a big advantage, even tough all the safari drivers come and pick up the guests in a lot of hotels (further too) The food was also a highlight: the meals were very hearty and quite diverse, which we really appreciated. The couple running the place was extremely friendly, welcoming, and always attentive, which made our stay even more enjoyable.

Requires cash. Asked if I needed a safari and I said I had one (in writing) and then sent a Jeep for us and was upset. Staff misunderstood. Language barrier. Food was good until we realized there was a cock roach on the plate. My son got really sick that night.

Extremely cheap. Great location 10 minutes from the National Park. Nice pool and comfortable rooms.

WiFi connection wasn’t great. Be aware that as you are in the jungle area, there will be bugs and flys in the room. Also when we went to pay the property didn’t have card facilities, so we had to pay cash for stay and safari jeep - ensure you have cash, just in case

Great location for safari and swimming pool was lovely. The staff and food were fantastic They also arranged safari for us - very good tour guide provided as well
