Reviews of Wild Resort Ella

Wild Resort Ella offers very nice accommodation in a peaceful setting. During our stay, renovations were being carried out and the eating area was being used for storage, which took away a little from the experience. While the staff were trying to be helpful, the manager made us feel as though we were under a curfew; he wanted to know where and what we were doing. We also felt pressured into using their tuk tuk service, which was more expensive. That said, the overall comfort and charm of the place made it a pleasant stay.

The staff were very friendly. I was unwell during my stay and they provided anything needed. Very kind.

Was a little far from town

We stayed at Wild Resort Ella for two nights as a family of four with two children. Our host, Kumara, was one of the kindest and most genuine people we met in Sri Lanka. He made our time in the Ella area truly beautiful and unforgettable. Thank you, Kumara, for your warm hospitality and for guiding us to the best places to visit around Ella. Our stay was simply perfect. For us, it’s nothing less than 10 out of 10.

The hotel is beautiful! Our room was the last one on the corner and was brand new. Everything was great. The views are amazing. The breakfast was top with fresh fruit and eggs.

Very nice place with a great view on the rural surrounding hills and the temple complex on the mountain. Very friendly, helpfull and welcoming hosts. The rooms are spacious, clean en feel luxurious. Would have liked to stay longer.

I really enjoyed my stay at the hotel. The view from the dining hall was beautiful, the staff were friendly and polite, the view by the pool was amazing, and the breakfast was very good. During lunch we even saw chipmunks, which was a lovely surprise. In the evening, we ordered tea and relaxed by the pool — such a pleasant experience. We were also allowed to use a drone directly from the hotel grounds.

However, the soundproofing could be improved — at night I could hear a lot of noise from outside, which made it difficult to sleep. There are also early morning ceremonies that may wake you up if you’re a light sleeper. In addition, the outdoor light switch was poorly insulated and gave me an electric shock. Please be careful — we reported this issue to the staff.

Very pretty location, out of the busy town. Lovely room, fabulous staff.

Nothing but maybe breakfast could be a bit better

Kumara was an absolute gem of a host along with Menaka. Anything from water, tea, and tuk tuks, trekking advice was all kindly provided. Although they are currently renovating it was still a very peaceful 3 night stay. Breakfast was included and was perfect.

If you want to stay in Ella surrounded by rice and tea fields, with amazing local meals and relax, this is the place ! 😀 We loved the views and the staff was amazing.

Everything was exceptional! The view,food,accommodation and to top it off they had amazingly awesome staff. That really made our stay.

There was bugs and but that’s what you except from being basically in the jungle. That’s not the hotels fault its nature.

We had a lovely stay in Ella. The room was gorgeous and had a balcony we could see fire flies from at night! The pool was perfect for a quick plunge. It was a little oasis away from Ella. The host was really kind and helped us with tuk tuks and a packed breakfast.

A fantastic hotel with even better staff. Tucked a little out of the way but only a short tuktuk ride into town (5 minutes), this hotel gives a great base to explore the area. The pool is small but lovely and the views breathtaking. Rooms are comfortable. Only (very slight) downside would be the bathroom - ours was basic but clean and functional which, when you think about it, is all you need. Staff are beyond helpful, even driving us to town when we struggled to get transport due to the new year holidays. The included breakfast was great. An absolute gem of a place.

Amazing little gem just 5 minutes outside of the Main Street of Ella in a tuk tuk. Very attentive staff who helped arrange trips and made sure we had what we needed. They had their own tuk tuk and could bring us to town and on trips for fair prices. We paid 500 rs for a ride to town. Breakfast was very nice. Weather in Ella is colder same as in Kandy, meaning it’s nice but the pool is also chilly. Our room was nice and well decorated. Good beds!

A group of us stayed here and it was absolutely amazing! The staff were so helpful and friendly. Breakfast was fantastic, rooms are spacious and clean. The pool is the perfect size and with the stunning view we saw deer and lots of other wildlife while having a morning swim. I would definitely recommend staying here!

Wild Resort was the best hotel we booked on our Route around the Island. The Room was very clean and comfortable. But the best at the location was the two guys we spent our time with. The Cooker Kurama and his colleague were really polite and helpful. We spent every evening with them and got the best food on our journey. We spoke a lot about the habits and had the chance to learn a lot about Sri Lanka. Ella is a town you should definitely stay minimum 3 nights, better would be 4-5 night. There is so much to discover and the hotel with that little pool in the little of nature (there is a big rice field in front) is beautiful. There is not that much tourism. What I also want to recommend is the cooking class we did with Kumara. We learned a lot about the Sri Lanka cooking habits and had a great time. definitely we would book that place again!!!

Amazing location overlooking rice fields and a tea plantation. Plunge pool was very refreshing with great views also. Breakfast was good.

Shower pressure was quite average and bathrooms could do with a refresh, otherwise rooms were fine for the price point

A great little resort to stay at! The staff were so accommodating and lovely, especially with helping us when our rented tuk tuk was experiencing some difficulty. The food was also great! We happened to get unlucky with lots of rain so we only had a quick dip in the pool, but can imagine on a nice sunny hot day that the pool is perfect! Rooms had everything you needed and were comfortable. You can also spot some cute friendly animals whilst staying here :)

One of the best hotels we stayed in!!!! So relaxing and beautiful environment. The staff went above and beyond and were just amazing!!!! They really make your stay so special and welcoming. Rooms were clean and food was very nice. The amount of nature we saw was amazing!!! Love it so much! Would highly recommend and would return!

The hotel is off a main road and our taxi driver was worried driving down at night but I think when he saw it the next day he was much happier!!!

Friendly staff , nice location away from the busyness of Ella. They made an effort to cook for us when we arrived late.

Our family just stayed one night at Wild Resort Ella and we had a really good stay. The room was spacious and comfortable, the views are beautiful and the pool is perfect. The breakfast was plenty and delicious and the personnel was really attentive. We totally recommend Wild Resort Ella for a quiet getaway in Ella!
