It was more isolated than expected and the beach quite run down. Room could do with some updating.

Lucky was very attentive and personable. The breakfast was very good, we are vegetarian, lovely Sri Lankan food. The swimming pool and terrace were very nice. Overall a relaxed vibe and good place to end our 2 week tour of Sri lanka.

Lack of shower gel in the bathroom.

Super nice staff and great breakfast. The pool was great. The room was very spacious although you can notice it is quite old hotel already. I missed shower gel in the bathroom but there were towels and everything was very clean.

Hans, Lucky and their team were really great and helpful. It’s a perfect spot to arrive in Sri Lanka. The hotel and the pool area are nice and very clean, the food is excellent and everybody is really friendly. We also booked the boat tour with them and it was fascinating and well organised. We can really recommend this place and think about staying there again the last days before our flight back. Having stayed at other places now, we realise how important it is that the host can speak proper English and understand what travelling people need - as they do at Ziegler’s cottage!

Such kind people who will do anything to make you feel at home and welcome. For example, we needed to leave at 4am to get a train from Colombo and the staff were up frying us fresh spring rolls to take with us! The pool is so lovely and refreshing. It's 12km from Negombo but we really liked that cos it's so quiet and chilled and perfect for a first stop after a long journey from UK.

- hotwater issue -- still, weather was so hot that a warm-cold water was fine. Moreover, this issue was solved on the last day. - bedroom lighting can strongly (and easily improved) by adding two bedside lamps with a warm and low light intensity.

- staff members: 10/10, congrats 👏 - the nice pool and pool area - the food (breakfast as well as dinner) - tge ratio Q/P was excellent - the intense and wonderful closeby ocean - the boat trip on the laggon: plenty of birds and animals (even a baby crocodile 🐊)

It was kinda a ways from town, but we always just got a tuck tuck for a couple of dollars. There is beach access, but the beach is dirty with plastic bottles and other debre.

The pool and the back yard area was nice. The staff were nice and helpful.

Bathroom was clean but could improve a bit in terms of fixtures..there was no place to hand clothes or towel etc.

The location is quite from everything and it’s nearly impossible to get a pick me or uber from.

Lovely small hotell, location is little bit in remote area. Staff is helpful, rooms are clean. Little update is needed in some places.

We had a very short 1 night stay there, arrived late and left early. Staff was very kind and we had good dinner and breakfast. We had a family room (2 rooms connected) but one had no window - which was ok for just one night. We could hear the ocean waves from the other room and that was super great!!! The pool was nice, but we did not have the time to use it. The beach is not for swimming, sea is rough and the beach side is dirty.

Pleasant, quiet location, helpful staff, a short walk from a non-commercial beach, delicious dinner served directly in the accommodation, clean rooms, great pool. We were completely satisfied.

During our various stay at different locations in Sri Lanka most the hotels do not load the credit card bank charges to guest. At this property the final bill should be inclusive of all charges and that mentioned in booking.com. Full cash is inconvenient for taking out from ATM and pay, hence the final bill should not have the 3% bank charges of credit card back charged and loaded on Guests.

It is well maintained property just next to scenic Negombo beach.

No Lifts but owner told us they are to be installed next year and along with hot tubs on the roof terrace with panoramic views. Out of town 20 mins tuck tuck to town with restaurants and bars. Although the food and reasonably priced drinks offset this.

Stunning sea views- easy private access to a beautiful beach. Nice pool in lovely private gardens with lots of shaded areas or sun traps for those that like them. The best food at very reasonable prices we had during our three weeks travel around Sri Lanka. Easy access to airport. A great selection lace to unwind at the beginning or end of your stay. Great price for penthouse Appartments - definitely worth the small extra cost. Family run hotel and very welcoming- couldn't do enough for us.
