Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

New ZealandVery well equipped and comfortable studios with private bathroom and shared kitchen. 5min walk from river, bus services and St Peter and Paul Basilica, 7min walk from big supermarket. Pleasant easy walk to Uzupis, Three Crosses etc (about 15 min). We meandered on way to old town but it's certainly within walking distance. The kitchen living area is large and comfortable with plenty of space for everyone and some staple supplies. We were in a room directly off the kitchen and were not bothered by noise. Our room was comfortable and fairly spacious. Recommended.

LatviaOne of the rooms (the one with the big window-wall) had a terrible odor in the bathroom. There must be some plumbing issue in that part of the house. The room our kids stayed in had no problem alike. House of Sun is like a little hotel - there are plenty of rooms, so keep in mind there will be other people staying. Some of them arrive late and may be making noise, like just talking loud in their room while you are trying to sleep (well, at midnight), and you will hear it very well. Also the situation with the promised free parking might be more of a lottery. If you arrive later than others you risk not getting it - there is a very limited number of free space near the garages in front of the hotel. I don't remember if parking was for free in the nearby streets - but most probably there's no parking at all, since they are just too narrow. There was parking for a fee nearby though.
Second time staying at the House of Sun, different rooms though. The place is very nice, lovely location. The design of rooms and bathrooms is beautiful, the beds are comfy and everything is super-clean. Loved the big common kitchen space and the sitting room in the upper floor.

NetherlandsYou can hear everything happening in the hallway - quite annoying if you are not the one getting up at 5am. Bathroom felt outdated.
Ok location, free parking, about 30 min walk from the Old Town. Decent room, kitchen available, very quiet.

LithuaniaI didn't like the smell in the bathroom, I couldn't get it to air out, I could smell the sewage, I didn't even want to go to the bathroom or toilet.
I liked that it had a cozy interior, very comfortable bed, quite a good location to walk to the center

United KingdomWe found the parking really difficult. The area the property is in is very hilly with very narrow streets. We couldn't find any parking close to the property. There were some spaces, which were taken, further down the road, but arriving late at the property with small sleepy child was very difficult as he ended up being left in the room on his own, while I found somewhere to park. There is a row of garages across the road, but naturally they all have 'NO PARKING' signs. However, it looked like most people were taking the risk of parking in front of them due to no other parking nearby. I do not recommend this hotel, if one is arriving by car as I found the parking very stressful.
Room was simple, but nicely arranged and very clean. The self-checkin was straightforward.

LithuaniaIf you'll have a room near the kitchen, it's a matter of other guests if it is quite or not (as doors is not so noise-proof as we would like then to be): we faced with a big company that decided that 4 am is a good time to spend it with a joy in the kitchen). Also, please note, that tourist city fee is not included in overall summary (thankfully, owner added this in a description later).

Israelgetting there from the bus stop on foot was challenging, including a steep climb and descent. We had room 7, which was very small. The bed is in a corner, making if difficult for the inner person to get out. Our room had a skylight so from 530 the room is no longer dark. The door is not soundproof so you hear everyone in the kitchen.
Hosts were helpful, kitchen was good, everything clean, bed comfortable, lots of tv channels, quiet safe neighborhood. Shower was hot and good pressure.

FinlandThe towels were wet when I arrived. And there were no trash bins in the room (except small in bathroom). I would also add notes what bin is what in the common room so people know where to recycle.
Place overall were nice and clean. Would recommend for people with big groups to book many rooms and use the common rooms.

IndiaThe main entrance is quite narrow. It is tough for us to move luggage at check-in and check-out. I don't like the bed since it is soft and slippery, making it uncomfortable.
The hotel has a shared kitchen, which makes it much easier to prepare our meals. Staff are very friendly, and we had timely responses to any inquiries about our hotel stay. There is an Express supermarket nearby, and a techno park for leisure.

PolandVery small for 4 people. A small table in the middle is useless and we just kept hitting our knees on it. It takes the whole free space.
Perfect for 1 night between your trips.

NetherlandsThe bed was not comfortable at all, the smaller top mattress kept sliding off, one of the blankets was super old. The room was cozy but very small, it was nice to have a table but there was hardly space to pass by. Our room was next to the kitchen so whenever there was someone cooking/talking early or late, we could not sleep.
The location is lovely, very quiet but there's a bit of a walk to the nearest shop/cafe. The house is very nice with beautiful common areas and a very well equipped modern kitchen. The room had all the necessary and some nice extra details for the atmosphere. The shower was clean and very good. Good value for money.

LithuaniaMain picture is of a common area, room nothing like that, but it was ok for sleeping.
Did not see anyone at all other than another patron at one point. No instructions we could find to direct us as to how to get breakfast - there was a kitchen upstairs and some stuff in there but we didn't know if we were allowed to get anything or did it belong to the other people staying there?

Czech RepublicVery noisy, the room is not soundproof. When somebody is showering in the next room, you can hear it very loudly. There is no staff, so no one can discpline noisy guests. I had problem with noisy guets in 2 of my 3 nights here.
24/7 check-in. The room itself is very nice. Especially the bathroom is on a great level. I have appreciated the radiator, where I dryed my wet clothes after rain.

RomaniaIn the house rules there is one that wasn't the best for us, which was that you can't stay in the common area of the building after 10 pm. Being a group of 14 people we would have had team meetings and "late games"of cards taking place but overall it was for our own sake to be well rested for the competition. Other than that we enjoyed our stay and plan on booking here again.☺️ in
The location of the property was really convenient for us. We travelled for a scaffolding world championship which was nearby.

LithuaniaCurtains seem a bit too long for safety reasons - I do recommend to only walk around the bed with the lights on during the night (I was able to notice this early during the day while getting to the outlet to charge my phone so it wasn't a problem personally)
Peaceful location, clean room, clear communication.
