Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

ItalyNo air conditioning and unfortunately we were there during a heatwave. The staff were kind enough to provide us a fan, but it didn’t solve the issue.

United KingdomWindow shutter blind didn't close completely. A bit noisy from the street, but didn't disturb sleep too much, Rather complicated light switches took a while to get used to.
Lovely stylish period hotel. Very comfortable bed and plenty of space. Staff were excellent, both at the reception desk, and, especially in the bar.

United KingdomI loved it so this is more just small things that would make it a 10/10 for me. The double bed in my room was 2 singles pushed together which would be fine but one mattress was a little higher than the other, so it wasn’t the most comfortable. There is a mini fridge in every room with lots of alcohol and water, but it would be great to have orange or apple juice, and also milk for the coffee, in there. I wouldn’t have minded paying for that. It’s such a small improvement. And finally, the shower curtain was clean but it would be great to just put a screen in there - just as the curtain kept sticking to me. These are small additions that would make it even better. It’s a great hotel and I’ll likely stay again!
The location is incredible - in the heart of everything. Beautiful view from my room. The room was a good size, with plenty of storage. Bathroom was large was very clean. The hotel itself is beautiful - old grandeur and very unique amongst so many super modern hotels. I personally loved it!

United KingdomThe bath could have done with being replaced but was perfectly useable (I found it to be a little narrow & slippy). The hotel has an air of faded grandeur about it but on the whole this is something I like.
Well located hotel with friendly and helpful staff. We had a room on the 6th floor with a great view which was much appreciated. The breakfast was fresh and plentiful. The bar area downstairs looked lovely but unfortunately was not open at the times we wanted to have a drink.

United KingdomThere is no A/C in the rooms and it was hot overnight, which meant we had the window open and there was traffic noise all night.
I'd recommend the hotel. The room had a classy calmness that you don't find often - lovely.

United KingdomMy summer visit coincided with a heat wave and there is no air conditioning at the hotel, which was not ideal at 40 degrees. While there is quite a lot of choice, the breakfast buffet could be improved. The pastries were quite ordinary and the predominantly sour dough bread was heavy. Some lighter wholemeal breakfast rolls and brown breads would be good. Also there were no eggs on the buffet and no option to order them. You can however ask the staff for capuccinos and latte coffees, if you don't like the default filter coffee.
Very agreeable old school hotel in the centre of Luxembourg with somewhat faded decor.
