Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

The location was good at the time of my stay because there were railway works all over the country, so not too many trains passed through. But I think it would be way louder if there was train traffic, since the hostel is next to the station. My room window overlooked the rails.
Everything. It's an amazing hostel, the staff were really friendly, the breakfast was good and it was perfectly clean.

I don’t understand how it is allowed party at the hostel after a certain time, especially during the summer when it is too hot to close the windows.
Great, clean place with friendly staff.

If you don't have a valid ID card, don't forget your passport!! We read the information given (bring own towel, toiletries etc) but there was no mention of ID being needed. We live in Luxembourg so don't carry our passports all the time and we were only saved here by the fact that my husband had photos of our passports on his phone. Lux driving licence wasn't accepted. Breakfast was disappointing, poor choices of cold food and there were no warm options. not even a boiled egg... Pillows were uncomfortable.
Great location (we came for a concert at the Rockhal, so it was very convenient). Dinner was pretty good (cordon bleu) and reasonably priced (also free water) and the person who served us was very nice. This was our first Luxembourg Youth Hostel experience so we didn't realise we needed to make our own beds etc but we didn't mind this at all, it's a good idea and you are given a packet with clean sheets and a pillowcase at reception. Reasonable shower.

You can get towels in the reception with a 10 euro deposit. But we did not know, so it took us some time to discover it.
Very clean, staff was very helpful, could speak several languages.

On hot days, they really need to provide a fan for the rooms. It was very hot one of the nights I was there - couldn’t sleep! There is no AC.
Love the location! The staff is great, and the breakfast is very good!

Missing some toilets in the main corridors. Just 1 per bedroom.
4 bed in my room. More confortable with less people packed in a single place. Good restaurant in the lobby. Friendly staff

Very noisy — the windows face directly onto the train station. Bring earplugs. No soap at all — not even anything to wash your hands with, which is hard to justify. I would prefer having soap included in the price rather than breakfast. Also, I would like to have curtains by the beds for more privacy.

Good: just next to train station and good connection to city Center. Also, a bridge goes to the park and minet trail. Ecological, so no soap to wash hand. Spacious, big locker, a desk and chair in room. Good staff and simple and basic breakfast which is valuable to the room rate. Bad: because it’s just next to train station, it will be noisy but I have ear plug so I am good to sleep.

Right near train station so very convenient. Kinda far from Lux City though. Staff was very friendly and they offered great Bofferding beer in the bar. I didn’t see many young people but it was during the week in April so that’s probably why. It was mostly older people. They offer several singles which are spotless. Bring your own pillow though. Very clean. Nice bar staff. Overall, I had a good visit.

I'm not picky, but I could not finish the breakfast coffee; it was simply bad.
For a short stay it's great. Breakfast is nice and it's super quick for catching a train.

No free towels and soap - a little bit inconvenient.
Just by the train station, so no need to walk a lot with your luggage. The staff was very friendly, the room clean and very comfortable. I also really liked the different breakfast options. Would definitely recommend!

Breakfast was poor. However, if I consider the price, perhaps it was fair enough.
Location was perfect! Just next to the strain station. Bakery, supermarket and shopping streets are also very close.

It was a bit strange that you need to prepare the bed yourself, but it's a hostel. Only, they could mention it. Also, when you book a separate room and there are no towels, it's a little bit disturbing. They need to mention it more clearly. Overall a good stay and will book again.
Great location, big room and bathroom, cleanliness is OK. Good value for money and OK for one or 2 nights.

The pillows did not give any support for my head and neck as they were super thin. I wish bar soap or hand soap would have been provided for free to wash hands after using the WC.
The staff was really nice and helpful! The breakfast was good and facilities very clean. The room was very large and the beds were comfortable.
