Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesEurope has this strange fascination with douvets. No sheets on the bed, so you sleep under a douvet or nothing, and since it was July the douvet was a bit much. The table fan helped. The establishment sits over a bar. The bar got quiet after 11PM, but there were lights from businesses across the street that flashed all night, so it might not be the most restive place. I could hear drunks in the street below outside. There was also construction which started at 6AM, but since I was catching a train at 0715 it wasn't bad for me. If you are taller that 6' (183cm) you may have trouble sitting on the toilet as the room was barely large enough for me to do so. But that's the only issue I had with the room itself.
Convenient to the train station so you can use Luxembourg's free public transportation to get here easily. There are affordable eateries in the nearby area, and it's proximal to the southern part of the old town, so even if you walk (it's two bus stops from the old town) it's not far to move yourself or your luggage. Room was spacious. Included a fan to cool the room. Adequate space and hangers for clothes. Comfortable chairs. Decent bed. Ample toilet paper. Secure. The outer door has a code. The male bartender even offered to key it in for me when I came in at night, but I had it memorized and didn't need his help.

RussiaThe main disadvantage is location. The hotel placed in the red light district. Many drunk people arguing on each other, probably gang members. Loud music and screaming on the streets for the whole night. The reception is the bar counter. So, it is not easy to find. Communication through the booking.com wasn't successful. I asked whether it was possible to equip a room with electric kettle, but got no response.
Clean room, good bed.

United KingdomThe immediate vicinity is currently undergoing a upgrade, so there is a fair bit of fenced off works areas and Scaffolding on buildings. That is obviously only a temporary situation though and it will be nice when it's all finished.
Luxembourg City is very expensive with regards accommodation. Hotel Zurich was one of the cheapest l found via Booking.Com and it was just what l needed. Secure rooms, clean and a good location right by the main Central Station.

United StatesSurrounding area was seedy and loud. Room didn't have decent A/C so opening the window doesn't help much and there's violent groups fighting and arguing, possibly on drugs.

United KingdomAfter reading all the reviews I was very skeptical and uneasy but actually found it to be nowhere near as bad as it was made out to be. The location was brilliant in the sense that it was a 2 minute walk from the main station and the trams/bus stops. It was also right by loads of shops and restaurants and only a short walk from the very centre. The room was clean, just outdated. The rooms didn’t smell of smoke. However, it did get noisy of a night when bars were closing and there was a few people congregated on the streets at all times but we were not bothered once by anyone and even walked the shops alone at 6am when needed to get a drink and was fine. I think it’s very ideal for travelling on a budget for a short stay!
