Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesOdd shower head in first room
The staff was responsive to problems that arose while checking in. Our reservation was not found and when we were booked on there was no confirmation that we paid for breakfast. All problems were resolved. Our initial room had a peculiar shower head that was mounted to the bathtub and you could not shower standing up. We were moved to another room without a problem. The hotel was located on the edge of Old Town within walking distance of everything we wanted to see both within and outside of Old Town. Our room was large and our bed comfortable. The hotel was classically elegant. Breakfast was excellent. If we return to Riga we would stay here again

RomaniaSome minor things that could make be improved for a better experience: - Slowest checkin I have ever experienced - Lack of amenities in the room, you have to call the reception if you need anything from a shower cap to an iron, but the reception is understaffed and sometimes they don't answer Apart from this two points that could be a deal breaker for some: - very noisy AC, we were lucky because it was cold enough outside to sleep without it. Also noisy if you open the windows, even if they face the courtyard there is a lot of noise from other AC units - The bathtub design which was half narrow and made it very hard to take a decent shower. They could have just installed a shower instead of that awkward bathtub
Probably the best part about the hotel is how comfortable are the beds and pillows, plus the location close to the old town as well. Also to appreciate the cleanliness of the room.

RomaniaGreat hotel, I had an amazing staying here. The staff from the reception are impeccable, in particular the Italian girl was super friendly with all the guests, really liked her. The room was very big, nice decorated and very comfortable. Also super clean. The position is great - close to the old town, to shops, restaurants & cafes, plenty of attractions in the nearby.

IrelandThe location of Hotel is excellent, 3 minute walk from Airport bus. The staff were superb, very friendly and helpful during my whole stay. Room very clean and tidy with bed comfortable , air conditioning which kept it cool, so room not to hot and bathroom and bedroom big size for single person. Breakfast is good choice and tasty. Hotel very close, around 5 - 8minute walk to the old Town of Riga. The area around Hotel is quiet at night. Also very close walk to Train station.

FinlandVery nice and large room (Superior), comfortable bed, good shower. Friendly and helpful staff. Great location. Trams pass by, but cities always have some traffic noise, it did not disturb us even when we were on 2nd floor.

United KingdomAlthough we liked the hotel we found Riga a little disappointing, mainly due to poor service. We did travel just outside of Riga and had some great days out which hugely compensated for any negatives. If we chose to come again this would be the ideal hotel.
The hotel was really good in just the right location for everything.

CanadaRoom could be a little bigger. A common issue with all older and smaller hotels is no place to open 2 luggage. Also bathrooms do not have any place to place toiletries.

Eurostars Metropole is located in a walking distance from almost everything - bus station, train station, old town and public transportation stations are nearby too. Booking processs went smoothly. Staff was kind and helpfull. Hotel itself is old and they do emphasize it - vintage stained glass, decorations. I enjoyed these things. Room itself was as I expected. Sound isolation worked perfectly: we tried to hear trams riding (busy street nearby) - and failed. Breakfast was nice too. Overall, everything was perfect for me.

United KingdomWe could not get the bathroom sink plug to close. Forgot to say something unfortunately. Would also have liked an English news channel if that was a possibility.
The room was really good, small but had everything we needed. Not a very good view from the window though. Everything clean. Breakfast was amazing, filled you up for the day! The location is good, near to the markets, shopping centres and old town.

ItalyThe hotel is located in the center of Riga, and there are also bus and train stations nearby, which was strategic to reach other cities. As for the room, it was clean and welcoming. The breakfast was good and varied, with fresh quality food. Finally, the hotel staff has always been kind and available to our requests.
