Hotel is old so some parts were warn / shabby but overall very good value for money.

Room was spacious and there was tea and water bottles available. Hotel was located in the very center of this beautiful small city. Staff was friendly. There is also a restaurant with nice teracce and a safe place to lock our bikes over night time. Shops next door. I liked blankets also.

Noise issues as walls were paper thin! Could hear people from downstairs and upstairs ! No shower curtain what made showering bit difficult - bathroom floor was covered with water after shower ! Was only tea available in room , no coffee what was surprising

It could have been cleaner, there was no hair dryer, weak internet, there was not enough shelf in the bathroom, the lamp in the bathroom was flickering.

The real value of the hotel is the location, staff - and nice food. The initial response to our booking query was prompt and during our stay Jenni , the receptionist/waitress made us exceptionally welcome. She spoke excellent English which helped and on arrivel she ensured we had a safe lock up for our bikes, our room warm and a good understanding of the menu/wines. Food was good -maybe breakfast even too big and lovely coffee. Our room overlooking the square was comfortable and ideal for our needs.

You get what you pay for. Given the room price I did not have high expectations to begin with so there were no disappointments. Yes property is a little dated in some areas such as room keys and bathroom, squeaky floors and doors, physical application form on arrival, but if you look past that it’s a lovely clean hotel with friendly and helpful staff.

Most certainly location, it was right in the centre which made it easy and convenient for us. Staff were very friendly. We left personal possessions behind after checkout and were contacted by the property advising us, which in my opinion shows the transparency. On the booking.com it stated that bedding and towels are at extra fee, I can confirm that it must be an error because these are included in the price.

This is a great little hotel. Our room was comfortable and spacious with good facilities (but a very noisy toilet!). The location is right in the centre of Kandava so it’s very convenient. And the cafe is fabulous - delicious food and very generous servings. Highly recommended.

During our stay that evening, there was a concert followed by a DJ playing music. As a result, we were unable to sleep for most of the night. After the DJ finished, a group of young people gathered in front of the hotel and talked loudly, further disturbing our rest.

The bathtub is hardly useable for showering without causing a flooding. The equipment has seen better times. Breakfast options are easy too late for us (10am+).

Perfect location for our bicycle trip. Restaurant has very good food and a nice backyard.

The shower was leaking, so the water was filling up on the bathroom floor. That was not very pleasant. It was great to have water kettle in the room, but it was smelling after plastic when used and the bottom of it was full of lime. Which again was not very pleasant when using the kettle. (I suggest to boil water with some citric acid, that will remove it easily. and repeat once in a while :-D ). Also, i would kindly suggest to have one big duvet (not 2 single sized) for the large double bed.

The room was quite spacious, the olive tones - quite nice, the furniture (most of it) was quite modern and it felt cosy in the room. The staff - very friendly. Thank you!
