Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

The room and Villa was very clean and had a great atmosphere. They had the best breakfast during our stay in the Balticum. They had free Coffee and tea 24h. And we had the first time German TV.

Stairs in bungalow are loud when walking, also quite lack of sound isolation between rooms.
Everything was perfect. Staff very friendly. Good variety and tasty breakfast. Great and peacefull location. Large and free parking lot.

Noise from other rooms, sound insulation could be better
Exceptional breakfast, clean room, drinks available in lobby, location perfect, walking distance to centrum and castles. Everyone speaks English. Parking in front of the hotel.

We liked everything, thank you
Very clean, comfortable and spacious. Amazing shower after a long trip. Tasty breakfast and very friendly staff. We really enjoyed our stay and Sigulda in general. As a suggestion, a full size mirror would be a nice addition to the room.

It was all good. A professionally run, yet friendly, little hotel.
The room was large and comfortable in an exceptionally clean and modern hotel. The staff were all really helpful and friendly. The breakfast was delicious with lots of variety. Coffee and tea etc were available all the time in the lobby. The hotel was 10-15 mins walk from the train/bus station, just a few minutes from some restaurants (I really liked Kaku Maja) and also close to the Sigulda Castle complex. It was also possible to walk to Gutman's cave and Turaida Castle although they were further away (I got the bus back).

There was no elevator. So we had to carry our bags upstairs.

It was really hot in the room, even when it got cooler outside. The small table fan was convenient but not really enough.
The breakfast was impressive yet really affordable. Kind staff, good location with a lot do and see within a 15 min walk

Breakfast room is not very cozy. Coffee not fantastic.
The hotel was on walking distance from the centre. We had a room with a terrace, which was nice to have a little rest. You can park on the street, in front of the hotel. Quiet neighborhood. We had a delicious dinner outside at hotel Sigulda - best to make a table reservation beforehand.

No AC. The buildings and the room look quite bland, lacking character.
Clean, spacious rooms. Great staff. Big parking space on premise. Varied, tasty, affordable buffet breakfast. Couple of castles etc. interesting stuff nearby.

Maybe not the most comfortable beds, especially the sofa bed downstairs which really only fits one. The space downstairs is quite crammed, whilst upstairs, you could easily fit a fourth bed, so maybe layout wise it's not the most practical. Also not very easy to get the space dark enough to sleep at night during the summer months. But indeed, the staff were very helpful and were able to set up at least one more black out curtain for us.
Great location and very helpful staff who responded quickly to all our requests.

It's not very clear where is reception desk😁, as the hotel consists of several buildings. Furniture in the room maybe is not very fancy, but still ok as for me
Good location close to castles, big open free parking in front of hotel. Breakfast is decent, though nothing special. Personnel is very friendly

My son has found a hair ball on the carpet, and all TV channels were in german, otherwise nothing to complain.
All was great. Receptionist girl was welcoming, described everything about the hotel. Room was clean, bathroom as well. Bed was comfortable, and we had a fridge in the room, that was nice. Breakfast was good well.

Breakfast was expensive for what it was. €9 per person for a limited choice where some items ran out very quickly.

The TV was working but showing with interruptions only some few German channels.
Stuff were welcoming and great. The facilities are clean and nice, well kept. Even a coffee machine near reception, but breakfast in a separate building.
