We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

United KingdomNothing not to like!
We had such an amazing stay at Riad Ayada! Very charming and peaceful place! Fabulous host, very friendly, helpful and welcoming! We have received lots of good tips and recommendations throughout our stay (thanks to which we have avoided a few street scams 😊). Location is also great, very accessable, in the walking distance to all major attractions. Food was nice, very balanced and healthy. We would love to come back one day! Thank you so much! Shkraan!

SingaporeNothing. Everything was perfect.
As soon as Delphine greeted us when we reached after our long flight, we knew we made the best decision to stay at her riad. Delphine and her helper went above and beyond to make our stay extremely comfortable. Pre-arrival communication was smooth and she was always very quick to reply with helpful information. We took the airport transfer offered for 15 euros, which was a really good price. The riad and our room are so beautifully decorated, they look even better than in the photos. Our room was extremely clean and had everything we need for a very comfortable stay. We were pampered daily by the wonderful breakfast spread that Delphine and her helper prepares every morning. Delphine provided us with a lot of very helpful tips and recommendations such as what is the max price when negotiating, where to change money, what to see and the best places to eat. She even helped me to send a dress to get tailored so that I would get a good price for the service. Location is great, it is just a 10 min easy walk to the main square, Jemaa el-Fna. We stayed for 3 nights and still wish that we could have stayed longer! Thank you so much for this wonderful experience!

SlovakiaThe hosts were very helpful and kind. They tried to help in every situation and always asked if we need something. The breakfast was fine as well, typical Moroccan with bread, spreads, fresh orange juice, fruit, moroccan tea, omelette on request and some sweets. The whole area felt safe and friendly and the location was also excellent, few minutes walk to the main square. Will be returning for sure!

United StatesThis was the first hotel we stayed in Morocco and it was a pleasant experience. The riad is impeccable! We stayed in the upper floor in the tent room which made our stay very special. The hosts were very welcoming and gave us lots of tips and recommendations to move around the medina. They helped us with transportation and booking a tour to the desert.

CanadaWe had a very welcoming stay at riad Ayada. The French couple who own the place was very warm and friendly, and eager to help. They helped us get our laundry done (note: it was charged by the piece) and a restaurant reservation. Our tent room on the terrasse was beautifully decorated, and very spacious. Breakfast was lovely. The location of the riad is in a non-touristy area of the medina, which was nice and quiet, and it only took about 10 to 15 minutes to walk to Jemaa el Fnaa. Along the way, there were a lot of stalls and shops that were mostly for locals and less crowded. The common areas were well-designed and beautiful, and the pool was kept at a perfect temperature.

United KingdomVery hidden, so people may struggle to find it without being escorted or without a map/phone but this is a minor detail and nothing that can really be changed.
The property was beautiful! The garden in the middle was like an oasis of calm away from the craziness of the outside and almost completely silent! Delphine and her staff were very attentive, kind and polite! The breakfasts were varied every morning a taste of local cuisine! The room was large, spacious and comfortable. The only minor thing I’d change would be the curtain for the bathroom, rather than a door as such but this is a small detail. The roof terrace is just lovely! It’s a small oasis of calm and very nicely laid out.

Beautiful Riad, great location, and the most wonderful hosts. Delphine and her husband went above and beyond to make our stay amazing. Delphone arranged for our airport pickup and met the driver to bring us to the riad. She helped get our sim cards setup, recommended wonderdul restaurants, and woke up early to see us off and provide a wonderful breakfast. Love all the extra touches in the riad like lovely products (loved the smell of the shampoo), bottles of water in room on arrival, safety lock, etc. Pool is the right size for dip and some relaxing. Definitely recommend this for your stay. Thank you Delphine for all the hospitality.

BelgiumWe really wanted to have a riad experience and the reviews were very good... But you need to know that this riad is in the poor, devastated and scary part of Medina (I would recommend the north or west part of it, or even Hivernage for a better Marrakesh experience). The Riad itself is also not 9 booking.com points level. Maybe other rooms are cleaner and more comfortable, difficult to say.. but our room had molds and stains that made both of us sick with respiratory issues, the bed cover was dirty as not washed for a long time. It was very dark in the room too. The breakfast was unfulfilling and the "pool" wasn't heated, as they advertised.
The friendliness of the host is de facto the only thing you can expect there. The transfer arrangement, getting advice on what to see etc. was helpful.

United StatesA lot. (1) We experienced a relatively high level of noise- I know, it's the medina, but we didn't have the same issue in Fez and I'm sure there are plenty of options in Marrakesh that can provide a better rest. It's a trade off: we were in a traditional neighborhood- so much that we got my wife's boots fixed by a shoe maker next door. But that comes with a price. The noise wasn't unbearable, but definitively noticeable. (2) The host- I want to believe that the root of the problem is the language barrier- our French host didn't speak good English. Most of the time that was a non issue, but it was tiring, and resulted in some odd situations. Upon our arrival we wanted to start our walk as soon as possible, especially because we arrived late after a flight delay. Nonetheless, and despite our clear signs, the host went on a lengthy parade of instructions and tourist information that we had no need for. We wasted about half an hour in a short winter day. More egregiously, the host donated an iphone that we had lost in the desert, and that it was subsequently found and delivered to her, to someone "in need". We had clearly manifested our interest in getting the phone back whenever a tourist from the US made the trip. I would like to think that this was a communication breakdown above everything else, because the host had absolutely no right to give our iphone to someone else. She had my US phone number! We were connected through whatsup! Why didn't she ask for permission to commit such an act? Because it's obviously wrong. These two incidents, together, plus a couple of minor ones, make me think that this is a host that is not thinking about her guest needs. Unfortunately, I was left with the impression that she has the "I know better" attitude that quite honestly, doesn't deviate too far from colonial mentality. I would go back to most hotels in Morocco. Not to this one.
Pros: good location to get to places (not excellent, more on that in a moment), superb breakfast, good comfortable beds. The staff accommodated their schedule to serve us breakfast 30 minutes earlier than usual (8 vs 8:30) at a time in December when sunrise was around 8:30. No doubt that imposed a bit of a burden to the cook who had to arrive to the Riad when it was still dark.

BrazilIn any case, the next morning the owner, Frederic, STORMS into the courtyard while my daughter and her partner are having breakfast, SCREAMING in French asking if she understands French. She says she does, he then continues SCREAMING asking her why then did she bring the pizza inside on the night they arrived. She says she already explained to him, she didn't realise the rule applied even when they weren't serving any food, and that she wasn't about to go eat in the streets of Marrakech at midnight. He SLAMS both of his hands on their table where they were having breakfast, and SCREAMS that she was supposed to have gone out to eat in the streets, if he sees them with any food inside the riad again he'll throw them out into the street, that they should thank Delphine for not having been kicked out yet. Her partner doesn't speak French, which is the only reason he didn't immediately react. Frederic violated my daughter's physical integrity, intimidating and assaulting her by screaming and slamming his hands right by her. When confronted about it, Frederic said his behaviour was completely justified and acceptable because they broke the rules. If a guest breaks rules, they can be fined, or politely informed that they will be asked to leave now or if this should occur again. Nothing gives anyone the right to berate and abuse a guest or customer. They should have called the police on him. It's truly sad because were it not for him, the place would be 5 stars. My daughter said she felt worst of all for his wife, Delphine, who does her utmost to show hospitality and has to deal with his man every day of her life.
The place is beautiful, the pool is great, the staff is lovely, breakfast is delicious, the room (Majorelle) was gorgeous as well. The bathroom is also a thing of beauty, there's a rooftop if you'd like to get some sun. You gotta walk a little bit to get most places but the location is good nonetheless. Unfortunately, the stay was ruined by Frederic, the owner, who was aggressive and hostile towards my daughter (I booked this place for her using my account so she cannot leave the review herself). The property doesn't allow guests to bring food from outside, which they justify by saying they serve dinner themselves. On her first night there, she ordered a pizza around midnight. She didn't realise you weren't supposed to bring food in even when they're clearly not serving food at the riad anymore. Both hosts can barely speak English, so they speak to her in French. Frederic comes to the door when the pizza is being delivered and screams at my daughter that she needs to go eat this pizza outside, in the streets, even though they're not serving food anymore. She says she's sorry, she didn't know there would be an issue, but she's not going to eat in the streets. Her partner had been working US hours from Marrakech, he couldn't leave starting at around 15h, so the next day she brought him food knowing it was not allowed. She said she would rather break the rules than leave him hungry. The riad only serves dinner if you order it during breakfast, so it's not like you can just ask them to whip something up for you when you're hungry (continued below).

PortugalI didn't like the fact that my room had a window in the bathroom and in the living area which was a wall with the patio. several customers and including the owner of the riad passed by several hours of the day and night talking on that patio, making it impossible to rest or have any kind of privacy in my room. a tip: although this is beyond the owner's responsibility, try not to book the desert tour through the operator recommended by her. horrible housing without conditions, all with a lack of hygiene and planning and for a day in the desert they didn't even have water to sell.
