Got locked outside with another room's guest for a little over an hour while the riad was empty with no staff to let us in. If this is a possible scenario then they really should provide guests with keys to the front door.

in the room: lightness of electric illumination: to shave was not easy and to read something was fairly difficult, although perhaps caused by the local habits (seat cushions) - but at least one seat with a backrest would be welcomed, as well as a possibility to write something on a table (available table small and low). But again, this might be hampered by the typically local furniture which on the other hand is nice.

friendly and always available helpful staff (also in organizing nice one-day trips to the coast or to the mountains), local appearance of the building and furniture, walking distance to all interesting places, bed was comfortable, breakfast sufficient and with some typical Moroccan pancakes, tea or coffee

When we arrived, it wasn't easy to find and we didn't see the sign immediately as it wasn't very well lit, we were slightly nervous as it was down a dark alley and we only found it as a gaggle of kids took us down there. A sign post on the main road and better written directions would be ace.

It was a real slice of Moroccan Riad life and was a hidden Oasis in a busy city. Great staff and yummy breakfast.

The couple who run it must be new to the hotel business. Instead of staffing the front desk, they were often someplace else and could not be easily found, even though they asked that guests leave the key when they went out and be buzzed back in. They also had an extended argument over 2 or 3 days, which echoed through the building. There were issues with water temp./pressure and electricity. Water may have been a city problem, but I was told the electricity was turned off "for security."

The room was lovely, the location was decent, and breakfast was served on the rooftop terrace.

Check that the weather will be warm as the Riad has a lot of open space-including the breakfast area, which if sunny, is very cosy.

Midhi was a great host. He provided us with great activities, and showed us around the Medina. Great stay!

Really friendly staff, always willing to help. Great location only a 10 mins from main area which is an easy walk but also means its quiet in the evenings.
